MDX-650A + ZAT-650 MDX-650A + ZCL-650A


+ ZAT-650

ZAT-650 cannot be combined with MDX-500/650.


And also, cannot be installed together with ZCL-650.
When ZAT-650 is installed, the following optional equipment cannot be used:
Vacuum adapters for chip cleaning (ZAD-500T,ZAD-500S, etc.),
table spacers (ZA-500 series, etc.), or a vacuum table (ZV-500A).
MDX-650A
• COVER SPINDLE MOTOR and COVER SPINDLE
have been changed.Because these covers run into
the Air Cylinder when install the ZAT-650.
• It is possible to upgrade MDX-650 to MDX-650A by
changing these parts.

ZCL-650A
• Base for attaching the Magazine has been added.
• It is necessary to rework the Frame. Therefore, it is
impossible to upgrade ZCL-650 to ZCL-650A.

• Modela Player 4 is compatible with ATC. This software
comes with the MDX-650A/500.

5. Tool Change Mechanism

retrieve the Tool and also return
the Tool in order to blow off the
milling dust around the Stock.

1. Air goes into Air Cylinder.
2. Air Cylinder pushes the
Draw-Shaft.
3. Draw-Shaft moves to down.
4. Draw-Shaft picks up the
Tool Holder.

6. Operation
• Tool Offset Adjustment
• When a tool is changed and the tool length changes,
the cutting position along the Z axis also changes.
When the tool is changed, it is necessary to perform
some operation that takes the tool length into
consideration, such as, for example, resetting Z0. The
tool-length offset is a function that automatically
adjusts the Z-axis position while taking the tool length
into account. In short, it is sufficient to set Z0 only once,
at the start. Then after the tool is changed, adjustment
to keep the Z0 position the same is performed
automatically.
Operation

1. Prepare the Sensor.


2. Select the [LENGTH SCAN]
under the [ATC] in the main
menu.

grasps each tool, starting with
stock No. 1, and brings it into
contact with the sensor.
Operation
Operation
• Make the Z0 Setting with any Tool
• Make the setting with any tool that has been measured.
You do not need to set this individually for every tool to
be used in cutting.
• Reference Position is already aligned by performing
the Tool Offset Adjustment. Therefore, the Reference
Position will be aligned with Z0 position when you
make the Z0 setting with any Tool.
