Design of The Analytical Structure of The Project

The document describes the steps to build the Analytical Structure of a Project (EAP), which organizes the idea of the project in a hierarchical matrix with 4 elements: the goal, the purpose, the components and the activities. The EAP is built from the information collected in feasibility studies and analysis of alternatives. It relates these 4 elements in a descending manner for the design and ascending for the execution of the project.

DESIGN OF THE ANALYTICAL STRUCTURE OF THE PROJECT

(EAP).

The Design of the Analytical Structure of a Project is the stage of

construction of the planning matrix, to analyze the logic, in which the idea
becomes a practical operational plan for its execution, in other words, this is
defined as the outline of the plan; a scheme for the development of optimal
alternatives, with the objectives and actions , this relationship is projected in
the form of a tree, through hierarchical levels organized vertically; This is
built with the information provided in the financial, economic, technical, legal
and environmental feasibility studies, carried out for the project and taking the
variables analyzed in the objectives tree, problem tree, alternative analysis,
which are reflected in the EAP, it is important to highlight that this is the basis
for the construction of the Logical Framework Matrix (MML), and is very
useful for organizing responsibilities in the execution stage.

The EAP is composed of four hierarchical elements which are: goal,

purpose, components and activities.

The Analytical Structure of the Project is the product of the information
that is collected, the development of the tree of objectives, problems and
analysis of alternatives and the optimal strategy. Which is structured based on
a tree diagram composed of a general and specific objective, actions and
activities to fulfill these respectively. It is necessary to highlight that the goal
and purpose are taken from the original objective tree, while the components
and activities must be built from the information provided by the financial,
economic, technical, legal and environmental feasibility studies used in the
analysis of alternatives, all these elements are structured based on four
hierarchical levels that are described below, it is important to highlight that the
project outline is designed in a descending manner and executed in an
ascending manner:

1. The Purposes of the project are those that describe through their
intervention, the way in which a solution to the problem will be
generated.

2. The Purpose of the project is the result or effect of having mastered the
plan in accordance with the Logical Framework Methodology (MML).
In this methodology, the title of the project originates from the purpose,
that is, it is necessary to highlight that in every MML, there must be a
purpose for each plan and this will encourage change. The purpose is a
hypothesis about what should happen as a consequence of producing
and using this strategy. It should be noted that the purpose and/or
specific objective is obtained from the objective tree.

3. The Components of the project which are: goods, services, products,

benefits, works, training, expected or tangible results, to fulfill the
purpose. The components are defined as results or possible effects.

4. The project activities define the steps to follow or actions to comply

with the strategies and purposes or possible solutions, that is; the tasks,
which will have to be carried out in each component and this implies
the use of resources.

The results of the Analytical Structure of the Project can be seen as the
Plan Planning Matrix, in which said projection is detailed, allowing the
information to be systematized, identifying what results will be achieved and
how, proposing the necessary hypotheses for success, considering the
principles of cause, effect and correspondence. It should be noted that this is
used in three periods: to technically formulate the project, as a reference point
to guide execution, and monitoring and evaluation criteria.
