Day / Date Day’s Activities


-We did observed and carry out many operations on the various machines mentioned
above. We observed how a cutting machine was use to cut different metals to the desired
length and shape and the type of cutting machine that was used is an electric powered
WEEK3
cutting machine. We did not only observe but we practicalise the cutting operation.
Also, we carried out grinding operation on a pedestal grinding machine and some of the
things we did were sharpening of drills and smoothing of welded pieces as instructed by
our supervisor.
-Continuing on the different operation on the various machines, we observed how drilling
operation was carried out where several holes of different diameters were drilled on a
pillar sensitive drilling machine using different drills.
- in the fourt week we observe the use of lathe machine to perform different lathe
operations like drilling, facing, turning, threading, grooving and boring. The lathe machine
was the heaviest and complicated machine we had in LAHMOTECH this machine is a
WEEK4
power driven machine and it was use to perform many operations like
- Drilling of large holes that cannot be drilled on a drilling machine(drilling)
- Production of internal and external threads that cannot be produced by taps and
dices(threading)
- Production of grooves on a pulley(grooving)
- Reduction of the diameter of a shaft(turning)
- Production of a smooth face on a shaft(facing)

This week was quit a great one because I was able to see the above mention machines and also see them
working
Which I really learned a lot from this activities

Further helpful Information like Drawings, Diagrams, Sketches, Calculations, Notes, etc. can be done on extra A4 sheets
and attached to this record sheet.
