BATCH INPUT RECORDING LSMW METHOD

T-code – LSMW

Create Project , subproject and object nd execute

There are actually 14 basic steps to be followed , In first step we need to record the transaction which
we want to create LSMW to upload the datas

Select batch input recording and click mountain symbol to create recording

Click Create

Give Description

Enter the transaction, it will take you the transaction screen to record

Select the field which you want to be captured, and select the views

Here, when we have to use Page down and up to select the views, rolling the cursor wont record the
views

Press Page down and select the views you want to record

Click org levels and enter the plant and stor location , (click with cursor once and enter the data)

Enter the Mandatory data in the views compulsory and press enter, it will be moving to another view.

(its better to use tab option , when switching for fields)

Here, in purchasing view I have recorded the automatic purchase order checkbox also

Next entering profit center

Save the material it will be triggering the LSMW screen, select default all, so that the data will be
captured

Here, you can I have selected 5 views initially while recording and I used page down button to select the
views, but still it was not recorded properly. so I’m manually changing the number (example in my
system the general data 2 is 18 & Accounting view is 22 )

Changing manually by double clicking the highlighted line

And you can some duplicates filed will be repeated, example material description and unit of measure.

You can delete this fields by clicking delete screen field

Some fields will be recorded even though we didn’t selected with the cursor , we can delete that also.

Check in next screen

Save the above screen ad comeback , you can click f4 and you will see the record MM01 select that.

2 STEP & EXECUTE

Create the structure

You can give a name

Now comeback and in 2 step itself click object overview like shown below

Select table to check the recorded fields

For material we can select the data after T -code and paste that in excel

Copy Column A & B and paste transpose it in sheet 2

Now delete the description and have these fields in Sheet 1

Copy from sheet 1 and paste here and enter, For plant and stor location , we want enter description
manually

Select MM01 and click extras and click auto-field mapping to map fields,

After clicking auto field mapping , we can click accept proposal continuously

Here you can make any field as constant value by select the field and clicking constant and entering the
value there

STEP 6, Just go In and save skip to next step

We have uploaded the notepad file, so we want to enter the data in excel sheet and paste that in
notepad

For views, we should put X there

If any checkbox field is there, for that also we can mark as X

Now I’m going to paste this 2 data, one is field name and field data in notepad

Upload the notepad file here by click the legacy data

Select the field tabular and check box “field name at start of the file” , because our notepad contains
the field name at starting so this check box should be ticked

It will display how much data we uploaded

Click keep batch input folders and execute

Select the line and click process

By selecting display errors, you can find what is the error immediately, when running in foreground we
can after the execution in error log file

The session is compeleted

Double click the line and check in log file , we can the material has been creted

Checking the material has been updated properly in MM03
