Home Activity.
The purpose of guided reading activities is to encourage and facilitate meaningful connections
between children and the texts they read(Kostikova et al.). They will practice a variety of
abilities, such as reading comprehension, authorial intent, authorial features usage, authorial
i) Character letter writing. Write a letter from one character to another in that person's
voice. It is not required that they be two people from the same novel.
ii) Try out some pre-reading activities. There are several activities that do not even
appear to be reading, yet they prepare a youngster to read. These pre-reading skills
