Course Description This course develops critical thinking and problem-solving skills through qualitative research.
At the end of the semester, the students should be able to demonstrate an understanding on how to..
1. Use appropriate kinds of research in making decisions;
2. Decide on suitable qualitative research in different areas of interest;
3. Formulate clearly statement of research problem;
4. Select, cite, and synthesize properly related literature;
5. Use sources according to ethical standards;
Course Objectives 6. Present written review of related literature ;
7. Describe qualitative research designs, sample, and data collection and analysis procedures;
8. Apply imaginatively art/design principles to create artwork;
9. Gather relevant information with intellectual honesty;
10. Analyze and draw out patterns and themes with intellectual honesty;
11. Form logical conclusions; and,
12. Make recommendations based on conclusions.
Incorporating a guided, small-group, brainstorming activity, the discussion aims to develop the following competencies in the students:
1. State the importance of conducting research in terms of:
a. Using appropriate kinds of research in making decisions;
b. Deciding suitable qualitative research in different areas of interest and by formulating a clear problem statement;

Course Policies

1. Honesty and integrity are essential components of the Senior High School program (cheating in any form is subject to sanctions as stipulated in the Student Code).
2. Absences and tardiness are strongly discouraged. Three (3) class lateness is equivalent to one (1) absent.
3. Attentiveness and active participation is encouraged for successful learning.
4. Regular attendance in class is highly needed.
5. The use of mobile phone and other electronic devices is not allowed during class hours, unless necessary upon the teacher’s approval.
6. Required tasks must be completed and submitted on or before the designated deadline.
7. During class hours, students are expected to observe proper decorum and maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the room.
