BIOTOX® MULTI MYCOTOXIN BINDER FOR SPECIES FEEDING STUFFS AND RAW MATERIALS What are mycotoxins? BioTox® Mycotoxins are toxic substances that originate from the Binds aflatoxins, ochratoxins, zearalenone, T-2 toxin secondary metabolism of several strains of mould fungi. and fumonisins These metabolites are toxic to vertebrates and other Prevents detrimental effects of mycotoxins animal groups, even in low concentrations. Mycotoxins Results in higher animal performance have different negative impacts on animal performance, including growth, fertility and reproductive performance. Composition The U.N.’s Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) A blend of various inorganic and organic mycotoxin estimates that about 25% of crops worldwide are affected binding agents. annually with mycotoxins (Witlow L.W. et al., 2010). Recommended dosage Mode of action 0.5 - 3.0 kg/ton of feed Prevention is the main target, but unfavourable weather Required dosage depends on several parameters including status of conditions do not always make prevention feasible. feed contamination, feed quality, animal species, animal age, health Therefore, many mycotoxins are frequently found in status, etc. contaminated commodities. In order to obtain complete decontamination, a blend of binding agents is clearly Packaging indicated. 25 kg
BioTox® is a blend of different silicates with different
structures. Due to its special structure and a combination 1 kg/t 100 of hydrophobic and hydrophilic surface properties, 3 kg/t different mycotoxins can be adsorbed by BioTox®. BioTox® traps the toxic substances within the matrix of sorbents 75 by steric and electrostatic interactions. 50 Table 1 shows the adsorption of the product’s main components for AFB1 at a pH value of 5. Figure 1, on the other hand, illustrates the binding efficiency of the toxin 25 binder BioTox®.
