language, and has five short and five long native vowels. It is also an agglutinative

'Tamil' is an anglicised form of the native name

tmilll
Originally a Dravidian language, Tamil is one of the most ancient living classical
languages. It is an official language of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, and is also
spoken in Sri Lanka, Malaysia, South Africa, Burma, and South East Asia.

In India, Tamil is one of the twenty-two scheduled languages. It is one of the two
official languages of the Indian territory of Puducherry, and is an official language of
the state of Tamil Nadu, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia. In India, Tamil is mainly spoken in
the states of Tamilnadu, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Sri Lanka, but significant
minorities speak it in other South Indian states. There are also significant Tamil-
speaking populations in Burma, Singapore, and Malaysia.

Tamil is a Dravidian language that belongs to the southern branch of the Dravidian
language family. Its vocabulary is derived from the Sanskrit language. The written
form of the language is derived from the Brahmi script, which was originally written
on palm leaves. There are two hundred and forty-seven characters in the script. The
script contains twelve vowels and 18 consonants. The script is well suited to literary
Tamil.

In Tamil, the word order in sentences is usually subject-object-verb. This order can
be modified with relative clauses. In addition to the verb, the tense categories are
indicated with simple suffixes and morphemes. These categories include nominative,
dative, and accusative.

There are two different grammatical classes for Tamil words: peyarcol or "name-
words", and uvula or "word-in-phrase". Peyarcol contains adjectives, numerals, and
pronouns, and is divided into rational and irrational classes.

Tamil is a verb-final language

Known as the classical language of India, Tamil is the main language of the Tamil
people in southern India. It is also spoken by small minority groups in neighboring
states. It is the official language of Mauritius, and has an official status in the Indian
states of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

It is spoken by emigrant communities around the world. Tamil is spoken as a second

language by 8 million people in India. It is also spoken by significant minority groups
in South Africa, Canada, and Fiji.

It is a Dravidian language, and belongs to the Southern branch of the Dravidian

language family. It is spoken in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Colombo. It
is the national language of Sri Lanka, and is also the official language of the state of
Mauritius.

There are several onomatopoeic words in Tamil, which represent natural sounds.
However, many of these words are reduplicated. One example is munumunu, a
reduplicated onomatopoeic word that means "snack".

It is important to note that the verb forms of Tamil and English are not equivalent.
While the verbs may be grammatically equivalent, their meanings may be different.

Verbs of Tamil are also inflected through inflectional and derivational suffixes. These
suffixes change the meaning of the word. They may mark a category of verbs, or
they may function as postpositions. These suffixes can also mark separate cases.

There are five short and five long native vowels

Among the twenty-one phonemes in the Tamil language, there are five short native
vowels and five long native vowels. The first is the aytam, which is a letter, not a
consonant. The other three are kLp, ezhuttu and ra.

The five short native vowels are aytam (H), dRsh, ellluttu, kLp and ra. They are
pronounced with two diphthongs and are written with a small dot below the vowels.
They are usually used as peripheral vowels. They are used in loanwords and indicate
proximity and semantic questions. They are also pronounced like gutturated vowels.

The five long native vowels are aytam (H), dRsh, ellluttu, kLp and ra. They are
pronounced with two diphthongs and are written with a small dot below the vowels.
They are usually used as word-end vowels in many words. They are also pronounced
like e in 'aid', e in 'else', e in'revelry', e in'marine', e in'split', e in'spit' and e in 'to'.
They are not reflected in the Tamil writing system.

In Tamil, the short vowels are called pointing characters. The vowels in parentheses
are peripheral vowels and are used only in loanwords. They are not reflected in the
Tamil script. The IPA web site can be used to listen to Tamil sounds. The ISO 15919
transliteration scheme recommends using a small dot below the vowels to
transliterate long vowels.

The six 'hard class' consonants in the Tamil writing system are r (rr), l (l), p (p), k (k),
u (u), and t (t). They have unvoiced, voiced, and fricative forms. They have also been
classified as trills, as well as labial, nasal, labial nasal, and retroflex. They are also
pronounced with the lips.

It's agglutinative
Among the Dravidian family of languages, Tamil is one of the classical languages of
India. It is a agglutinative language with a very rich and complex morphological
structure. It has official language status in Sri-Lanka and Malaysia. It is spoken by
around 65 million people in India, Malaysia, Singapore, Singapore and other
countries.

In Tamil, words can have inflections based on gender and number. They can also
have compounding due to case and tense.

In Tamil, the subject can be a noun phrase or a verb. The verb can take a third
person singular or a third person plural. It can also take a causative or an aspect
suffix. Generally, the subject takes the nominative case. In Tamil, the verb is
generally in the 3rd person singular.

The verb can also take an optional voice suffix. In Tamil, the subject can also take
the dative case. The verb is usually in the final position in a clause.

In Tamil, the verb is inflected for tense, person, number, and modality. There are
three main kinds of pronouns: a-prefix pronouns, interrogative pronouns, and
demonstrative pronouns.

Irrational nouns are handled differently from other nouns. Normally, animals are
handled as neuter nouns. However, Tamil has adopted some English words. It has
also adopted some Portuguese words.

The Tamil language is also influenced by Sanskrit and Prakrit. It has a rich literary
history. There are about 2.300 brief poems about love and war. There are also many
onomatopoeic words.

It's influenced by Dravidianism

During the colonial period, Dravidian parties had opposed India's establishment.
They also advocated for a separate Tamil state. They sought a more balanced power
allocation among states. They also advocated caste-based reservations.

The Dravidian movement in Tamil Nadu became a permanent feature of the state's
politics after 1967. During that period, Dravidian stalwarts led anti-Hindi agitations.
These parties are now allied with the Congress Party. In 2004, the DMK tied up with
the Congress and swept 39 seats.

The movement was initially popular during Kamaraj's time. It later split into two
groups. The first group was led by EV Ramasamy Naickar, who propagated a
Dravidian-speaking caste and demanded a separate Tamil state.

The second group was led by Malayali TM Nair, who also propagated a Dravidian-
speaking caste. He fought for caste-based reservations, women's rights, and self-
respect. He also repudiated God.

Dravidian language has been traced back to the Indus Valley civilization. The Indo-
Aryan languages show large structural borrowings from Dravidian. The number of
loanwords from Dravidian is small, however. In addition, they have a variety of
negative verbs, which are not found in other Indo-Aryan languages.

In the modern period, the most important source of loanwords has been Prakrit.
However, Portuguese, English, and Urdu have also made significant contributions.

The Dravidian style of speech has its roots in the ancient Tamil language, which uses
archaic forms. In Tamil oratory, the speaker is situated in the inner self.

It's spoken by 3.8 million people in Sri Lanka

During the last decade, the political process in Sri Lanka has been dominated by
ethnic struggle. The Tamils and Sinhalese have fought over power and the status of
their languages. In 1956, Sinhala was made the official language of the country, but
Tamil was not added until 1988.

Tamil is a member of the southern branch of the Dravidian languages. The Tamil
language family includes 35 ethno-linguistic groups. The Tamil language is spoken in
southern India, including Sri Lanka. There are also significant Tamil minorities in
other South Indian states.

Tamil is the official language of Sri Lanka. It is also spoken by a significant Tamil
diaspora in many countries. It is agglutinative, using a syllabic alphabet. There are
two diphthongs in Tamil, one resembling a syllable and the other a diphthong, but
both are reduplicated.

Tamil has 5 short native vowels. It also uses diacritical marks to suppress the
inherent vowel in consonants, such as in the word for "here" (inkai), which
developed in the Kongu dialect of Coimbatore. In modern Tamil, the stress is fixed
on the first syllable of a word. It also uses reduplication and compounding to form
words.

The language has two socioeconomic registers, including a more agrarian one. The
agricultural sector accounts for 34% of the labor force. It is also the mainstay of the
economy. The other 8.4% is made up of undefined occupations.
