EVAPORATIVE CONDENSER

Caution!!!

Please read the instruction carefully, then install, use and maintain the
condenser. To make sure that workers are safe and equipments are
running normally.

1. Please read the lifting notes carefully before lifting

2. Opening door and climbing are strongly forbidden if the fan on the
top is running,
3. Water scarcity is strongly forbidden in operating, and water level
must higher than operating water level.
4. To set up open-phase protection and overloads protection for fan

and pump.

2. Notes of Installation and Lifting

2.1. Lifting Notes

2.1.1. Our products belong to structure assembly of thin steel plate. During lifting
process, if not follow the following requirements, the appearance of our product is
easily twist and damaged.
2.1.2. To make sure the products are excellent during transportation, we have fixed the
up and down case separately before they leaving factory. Under the up case, there
is a pedestal which is made of 6.3# channel steel in order to avoid rolling, shifting
and collision during transportation. Only before the up and down cases assemble
together, can carry down the channel steel pedestal. Don't unload the pedestal
before two cases assembly together to make rolling, shifting and dragging!
2.1.3. Under the down case water pond there also is a pedestal which is made of
channel steel. This pedestal as one part of down case installed with one step. On
the pedestal there are Φ22 open holes for the convenience of embedded part to fix
evaporative condenser.
2.1.4. When installing two cases and those less than two cases, try to make the cable
wire longer as much as possible in order to prevent twist of up case which result
from stress. Installation of three cases depend on user's installation site (including
height, difficulties of lifting) and decide whether needs to fix special hoisting bar.
2.1.5. When lifting the down case, user can just use self-provided hanging beam, but pay
attention to that the cable wire which pulled slanted cannot press the angle of case,
or else user should take the whole responsibility of the damage and twist.
2.1.6. When installing the up and down cases, the junction surface must fill up sealant,
or else there will be water leakage during operation.

2.2. Installation Notes

2.2.1. Base of Condenser

2.2.2. Installation Notes

1). The base of condenser must steady and firm.

2). Height of wind gap of axial-flow fan should be one meter over than building nearby.

3). Each condenser should have enough space around itself.

4). The distance between inlet scoop of condenser and barrier should be more than 1.5
meters.

5). When installing more than one condenser, the distance between every two
condensers should be more than 1.5 meters.

6). You should think about the space of new added equipments for the development of
your company in future.

4. SWL Evaporative Condenser Manipulation Rules

Before using evaporative condenser, works like pressure test, vacuum-pumping for leakage testing in the
whole refrigeration system should be completed.

4.1. Check before Running

1. Check fan before using, Check the correctness of connection of pump electricity, check whether fan blade
and impellers stuck and direction are right. Make sure pipe coil and water pan are clean without any sundries.
Ball cock should be good with normal water replenishing and water level keep in normal position.
2. Check air-inlet valve, liquid –outlet valve and pressure gauge valve of evaporative condenser. Disconnecting
valve should before safety valve. Balance valve should be on-state. Purge valve should be off-state. Electronic
water processor should be in normal operating condition.
3. Before starting the refrigeration compressor, other equipments and valves in refrigeration system should be
in normal operating condition.

4.2. Running
1. Start fan, to observe whether ammeter needle points right.
2. Start pump, to observe whether ammeter needle points right and confirm condenser has provided water
normally and check spray nozzles spray water equally.
3. All things are normal then start refrigeration compressor and other refrigeration equipments.

4.3. Check during running

1. Fan. Pump operating without noise and abnormal shaking. Temperature increase of motor is normal.
2. Electronic water processor operating normally.
3. Normal water level. Ball cock runs normally with no stack. Water replenishing is normal.
4. To observe the pointing of air-inlet pressure gauge frequently. Under any conditions, it should not over
more than 1.5 Mpa and under normal conditions it should below relevant refrigerant pressure according local
temperature (wet bulb temperature + 12℃).

4.4. Air Release in Evaporative Condenser

1. Purge valve should at the highest place of inlet air pipeline and at the top place of outlet liquid pipeline.
2. Air of inlet air pipeline should be released when motor stoppage.
3. Air of outlet air pipeline can be released during operation.
4. Air release tube can not only connect with the air separator, but also can release directly. When release
directly, there should be a flexible tube to lead air into water. Flexible tube and air release tube should pack
firmly.
5. Purge valve should open slowly and step by step. People should at the scene of air release to ward it.

4.5. Motor Stoppage of Evaporative Condenser

Refrigeration compressor stops running 5 minutes later, motor stoppage.
I. Stop pump running and stop electronic water processor works.
2. Stop pump running 2 minutes later, stop fan running to dry the water on condenser pipe and cooling
ammonia fluid fully.

4.6. Special Indication

1. In winter, when outside temperature below 0 ℃, after stopping fan running, must eject the water inside of
tube avoid frost shake.
2. Those places which outside temperature below 0 ℃ in winter, keep the exposed water-replenishing tube
warm to avoid freezing in order to replenish water normally.
3. In extremely cold region, electric heater can be set in water-collecting tray. Before running, heat water to
avoid freezing.

4.7. Condensing Pressure Overtop during Operation.

1. The model of condenser is too small.
2. At that place and that time wet bulb temperature is too high.
3. Refrigeration system overload resulting in condensing overload which surpass the designed ability of hear
ejection.
4. Too much air and foul gas which enter into the refrigeration system.

5. Maintenance of Main Parts of SWL Evaporative Condenser

5.1. Maintenance of Fan

1. Before putting through the fan power, check whether the wire is broken or if there is creep age or other
dangerous factors.
2. After installing fan, keeps it running 1 hour then stop motor to check it whether in good running and
whether electric motor is heat.
3. In normal operation, regularly check the space between fan impeller and ventilating duct wall is
necessary. To observe whether there is colliding, otherwise adjustment should be made.
4. When following cases have happened, stop motor immediately and overhaul:
a. Temperature of fan bearing increased over 95 ℃.
b. Electric current in overload operation.
c. Smoking in motor.
d. Strong shake or big noise of scuffing.

5.2. Pump Maintenance, Causes and Solutions of Fault

5.2.1. Pump Maintenance

5.2.1.1. Maintenance in Operation

1. Inlet branch must in great seal with no water and air leakage.
2. Prohibit long-term running if pump under condition of cavitation erosion.
3. Specialized person should take charge of the pump avoid occurring accidents.
4. For long-term running there will be wear in machine. If noise and shake become greater, motor
should be stopped. If necessary, replace the wearing parts. Generally speaking, unit needs to be
checked every year.

5.2.1.2. Maintenance of Mechanical Seal

1. Lubricating fluid should be cleaned with no solid particles

2. Dry grinding operating is forbidden.
3. Before starting pump (electric motor) should running several circles, in order to avoid breakage
of seal ring for sudden starting.
