Pumpkin Spice Cup Cozy

Design by Sandy Nordwall Eggers


This cup cozy will fit a “To Go Cup” or a Pint size Mason Jar!
You can use acrylic or cotton yarn!
Tip: It can also be used as a Fall decoration… just drop an LED tealight in
the bottom of the Mason Jar!

Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver in Pumpkin, I Love This Yarn in Mid Green
OR Dishie Cotton yarn (from Knit Picks) in Fox and Jalapeno
Hook: 4mm/G Hook, 5mm/H hook
Supplies: Tapestry needle, scissors, low temp glue gun
Stitches:
Ch= chain
Ss= slip stitch
Sc= single crochet
Hdc= half double crochet
hdcBLO= half double crochet Back Loop Only
dc= double crochet
F/O= finish off
MR= Magic Ring
Back Bump: part of stitch behind the front and back loop of a stitch,
also called Back Bump.
2dc Cluster Stitch:
1: 1: Yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull through stitch,
yarn over, pull through 2 loops
2: Repeat Step 1, once more into the same stitch, (3 loops on hook)
yarn over, pull through all loops on hook.
Cluster Stitch:
1: Yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull through stitch, yarn
over, pull through 2 loops

2: Repeat Step 1 into same stitch, Two more times (4 loops on hook),
yarn over, pull through all loops, Cluster Stitch Complete.

Pumpkin Spice Cup Cozy: 5mm/H hook, RHSS in Pumpkin, ILTY in Mid
Green
R1: Begin with Pumpkin and 5mm hook,
MR, ch1, 10 hdc into MR, pull to close,
ss to join (10)
R2: ch1, 2hdc in each stitch around, ss
to join (20)
R3: ch1, *(hdc, inc) * repeat from *to*
around, ss to join (30)
R4: ch1, hdcBLO in each stitch around,
ss to join (30)
R5: ch1, hdc in each stitch around, ss to
join (30)
R6: (ch1, sc, ch2, 2dc Cluster in same stitch), ch1, skip1, *(Cluster stitch,
ch1, skip1) * repeat from *to* around ss to top of beginning stitch (15
Cluster stitches)
R7-10: ss over to ch1 space, (sc, ch2, 2dc Cluster in same stitch), ch1,
skip1, *(Cluster Stitch, ch1, skip1) * repeat from *to* around, ss to top
of beginning stitch (15 Cluster stitches)
R11: ch1, sc in each stitch and ch1 space around, ss to join (30)
R12: Change to Mid Green, ch1, sc in each stitch around, ss to join, Do
Not Finish Off! (30)

Curly Vine and Leaf: 4mm/G hook, ILTY in Mid Green
R13: Change to 4mm/G hook, ch1, sc in same stitch, ch15, 2sc in 2nd
Back Bump chain from hook and remaining 13 stitches, ss into 1st
stitch, (Curly Vine completed)
Begin the Leaf, ch8, ss into 2nd chain from hook, sc, 2 hdc, 3 dc, 5dc in
last stitch,
Work the other side of the chain stitches, 3 dc, 2 hdc, sc, ss, ss to join,
F/O, weave in the tail.
To hold the Leaf in place, use the low temp glue gun. Put a small dab on
the top of the leaf & attach to curly stem. Also, add a dab to the bottom
of the leaf, attach to the cup cozy.
