Configuration instructions for routing Alert

messages via Pole Star
Section 1: Notes
Note 1: Before following these instructions, it is essential to ensure that the SSAS system you are
about to configure has been registered with Pole Star, otherwise the alert message routing will not
work. If in doubt, please contact your Pole Star agent or sales contact and quote the 9 digit mobile
number (IMN) of the Inmarsat C SSAS transceiver.

Note 2: The SSAS system should be tested in conjunction with the Company Security Officer
(CSO) on completion of this configuration.

Note 3: The SSAS alert button must be latched for at least 30 seconds before an alert message is
generated and transmitted.

Note 4: The only way to reset security alert reporting from this system is by unlatching the alert
button. The unit cannot be reset over the air.

Note 5: One routing option is available: Vizada/France Telecom (Aussaguel) Your company may
have a preferred LES route based on commercial agreements, please confirm with your CSO if you
are unsure.

Note 6: For instructions on how to remove these configuration settings, please refer to Section 4 of
this document.
