Social Media Audit Template

A social media audit helps establish a baseline for social performance, branding, new opportunities and more.
In order to use this template, you will need to make a copy of it or download it as an Excel spreadsheet.

- Social channels: Manually fill in applicable fields in each social channel tab to automatically populate the
summary tab. If you have multiple profiles per channel, repeat the process for each profile.

- Tips: Hover over cells with a small black triangle in the corner to view tips providing additional guidance.

- YOY change: If your analytics tool doesn't automatically calculate year-over-year (YoY) change
percentage, use the formula: [(Data from Audit Date Range - Data from Previous Year)/Data from Previous
Year]

- Automatic calculations: Once you've filled in each tab, engagement, impressions, social media messages
sent and followers gained, will be automatically calculated in the Summary tab.

- Notes: Add key findings, action items and other relevant notes at the bottom of the Summary tab.

- SWOT: At the bottom of each social channel tab, complete a SWOT analysis, identifying strengths,
weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
