II. Background and Rationale of WAP:


The Matatag Curriculum is a curriculum framework developed in the Philippines that aims to provide learners with a holistic
education that focuses on academic excellence, values formation and skills development. It addresses the changing needs of the
learners. The Matatag Curriculum Recognizes the evolving needs of learners in the 21 st Century which require a more
comprehensive and well-rounded education. It aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to succeed in
rapidly changing society.
