The data from cardiopulmonary exercise testing may be displayed in many ways, one of which has become popular and is known as the 9-panel display.
As shown in the example above, variables are grouped by underlying significance related to the physiology of exercise. While all of the responses are
interrelated, the top row (A through C) relates to metabolic and cardiovascular responses, the middle row (D through F) to ventilatory and gas exchange
responses, and the bottom row (G through I) to mechanical responses.

VO2: oxygen uptake; S: slope; PRED: predicted; LLN: lower limit of normal; VCO2: carbon dioxide output; LT: lactate threshold; RER: respiratory exchange
ratio; HR: heart rate; O2: oxygen; VE: minute ventilation; I: intercept; RCP: respiratory compensation point; ULN: upper limit of normal; PETCO2: end-tidal
partial pressure of carbon dioxide; IC: inspiratory capacity; VT: tidal volume; EILV: end-inspiratory lung volume; TLC: total lung capacity; IRV: inspiratory
reserve volume; RR: respiratory rate; PETO2: end-tidal partial pressure of oxygen; SpO2: pulse oxygen saturation; MVV: maximum voluntary ventilation.
