Adriana Hvar Marina Hotel & Spa

The Adriana’s appeal is the sophisticated
simplicity of the architecture which is then
carried through and exploited in the interior
design concept. Behind the simple, elegant
sandstone façade with its grid of bedroom
windows with narrow sliding shutters is a
2
comfortable restaurant and lobby space, a
Croatia ground floor lobby bar, a rooftop bar and 3
lounge, 59 guest rooms and suites and a fourth
floor saltwater pool.

Adjacent to the swimming pool on the fourth

floor is the main hotel bar with a 15-metre-
long counter and stunning views across Hvar
town. The blue-lit SkyBar, as it is known, acts as
a shining beacon over Hvar, offering the best
possible place to have a cocktail and watch the
sunset.

Alila Jakarta

Jakarta, Indonesia

The hotel in the middle of Jakarta's central

business district stays true to its name, a
Sanskrit word meaning "surprise". The Alila
Jakarta exemplifies simple elegance and
skips all unnecessary ornamentation or excess
throughout its twenty-seven floors.

A Shanghai-style modern bistro is designed

with open kitchen behind the glass wall. An
extensive variety of Shanghainese cuisine,
from the simple to the sumptuous – this is the
land of the best soup, noodles, rice, and more
dumplings. Located on the second floor, with
large windows letting in the natural daylight,
Lobby Lounge is the ideal location to close that
deal, relax and unwind with friends, catch up
with a good book or review the daily national
newspapers. Enjoy the calming chill-out music
and signature beverages whilst surfing the net
via WiFi connection. 1. Warm colours in the casual dining space

Almyra Hotel
The hotel has undergone an ultra-chic
metamorphosis and now features sleek interior
elegance inspired from the island’s patron
goddess of love and beauty, Aphrodite.

Splashes of the 1970s' boldness – such as white

leather sofas and ottomans – are enhanced by
Cyprus a combination of natural and artificial lighting.
Seeing as the hotel places as much emphasis
on a successful family experience as on good
design, the concept focuses on the practical as
well.

The orange colour of chairs in the bar creates

a warm space for the guests. Daylight shining
from the windows in the restaurant also
provides the guests with a warm and bright
atmosphere.

Andaz West Holywood

A new "Glass Pavilion", framed in skeletal steel,
extends the hotel’s bar and restaurant out onto
Sunset. The space is transparent and becomes
a shared experience between the public and
private realm. The pavilion features a custom
tumbled mosaic patterned floor. Above the
main entrance to the hotel is a panel made
Los Angeles, USA of black polished stainless steel tiles that are
custom stamped. These same tiles appear in
the lobby bar and along the back bar of the
restaurant.

Andel’s Berlin
The hotel revitalised a former apartment building
by Studio Aldo Rossi near Alexanderplatz.

Linked to the lobby at ground floor is the

grand, double-height, "Oskars" bar. Enlivening
the corner of Landsberger Allee and Storkower
Strasse, its monolithic stone tile interior is
Berlin, Germany juxtaposed with accents of colour from the
lounge furniture and stacked glass bar.

The sky bar, in the crown of the tallest corner

tower, has three hundred and sixty degree
views of the city. It is a louche and loungy loft
space, lined with anthracite polished plaster,
scored to reveal a lining of fuschia suede.

The hotel also boasts a destination Fine Dining

restaurant with sixty covers, serving gourmet
Austrian cuisine with a dedicated sommelier
and wine cellar. There is also further dining
for over five hundred guests or delegates in
the hotel’s two dining rooms, which still retain
a special intimate feel through the use of
upholstered dividing screens and windows.

Andel’s Krakow
The design develops the core principles
established by the previous Andel’s style and
comfort, with respect to the specific requirements
of the traveller in this part of the world.

Warm, textured, riven stone lines the rear of the

reception, contrasting with burnished metallic
Krakow, Poland shells enclosing the restaurant. The shells interlock
to locate and define different zones, establishing
set routes and views through the building, while
allowing space to flow freely.

The bars are designed in response to the brief for

a 24/7 space, welcoming for both the business
and leisure guest, the individual and groups,
optimistic in the day and intimate and louche
in the evening. The bars are lined with locally
sourced stained glass in saturated colours with
warm stained timber.

Andel's Lodz
The hotel includes 180 bedrooms, 80 long stay
apartments, a four-level atrium, a stylish bar,
café, restaurant with a business centre and a
600-capacity grand conference room.

The ceiling of the restaurant is very special with

steel-like steams and columns. Together with

style, they create a vigourous atmosphere.

Arcadia Hotel
Hotel Arcadia is located on the first square one
encounters entering the city of Tripoli on the
Peloponnese.

White is the dominating colour of the internal

spaces, both in the common spaces and in the
rooms. Black is used for the floor finishes, to
Tripoli, Greece create a base and to bring a contrast to the
rooms, without making them appear smaller.

Large marble slabs were used on the ground

floor, wallpaper on the walls and ceiling, and
for the fixed furniture such as the bar and the
reception desk white corian was chosen. The
lighting of the spaces is mainly indirect: the
light source is hidden, adding to the relaxing
atmosphere of the spaces.

Becker's Hotel
Amidst the vineyards and rolling hills of Trier,
one of the oldest cities in Europe, the hotel&
restaurant could be dated back to Roman times.
Through the use of natural materials such as
stone and wood, the property appears as if it is
almost nestled within its surroundings.

Trier, Germany Blocks of charcoal grey basalt form a recurring

motif inside the hotel as well, their subtly
varying patterns lending the design a dynamic
yet truly classic timelessness. Yet Becker’s self-
professed heart is its kitchen. Done in black
and white, the restaurant it serves suggests a
sophistication befitting a black-tie event or a
white wedding, while the wine bar's deeper,
darker tones evoke a cosmopolitan night out.
Here, too, are the ubiquitous basalt stones, but
the simple rectangular shelving for the wine
glasses adds a repetitive, almost artistic visual
element to the room.

Beity Hot Spring Hotel

Located in the setting of Basaltic hill,
overlooking the Zhongliang mountains, this
hotel absorbs the essence of the nature. It is like
a picture of gardens, showing its unique beauty
of tranquility, quietness, spirit and strangeness.

It is far away from vanity but not the city, which

Chongqing, China is the best definition of the hotel. The dark
palette in the design shows "quietness" and
most importantly, saves electricity resources.
Due to the dark "warm" colours in the design,
people will feel like in the flowers, which aims
to create "fragrance" of the hotel. All these
design shows in the restaurant.

Busan Paradise Hotel

The overall concept of the Busan Paradise Hotel
is modern classic. It has some of the elements of
traditional classic spaces with a modern GAIA
touch.

The buffet restaurant is in a way an extension

of the lobby where the emphasis is on grand
Busan, Korea food display. In order to break the monotonic
space, unique, stylish banquette booths are
placed all around in order for the space not
to appear as seas of tables and chairs. Warm
colours, lightings and luxurious wood as well as
stone flooring contribute to the overall feel of
modernity, comfort and luxury.

Central Palace Una Hotel

Catania, Italy

A prestigious building dating back to the early

1900s, in the artistic and commercial heart of
Catania, was already an historical luxury hotel.
The restoration project has been carried out in
the view of maintaining the Sicilian style and
traditional cultural heritage. The hotel provides
ninety-four rooms and nine meeting rooms,
fitness centre, Turkish bath, indoor parking,
elegant banquet room, roof garden, panoramic
terrace with restaurant and American bar.

Many Mediterranean elements are integrated

into the design of the restaurant. The dining
seating surrounded by white long curtains
are elegant and romantic. The decoration on
the ceiling and the choice of the chandelier
are reminiscent of the Mediterranean beach
and sunshine. Every detail is taken into

Chrome Hotel
Facing a busy arterial road of the city and
flanked by commercial buildings on either side
with a residential building at the rear, this small
plot for a business hotel had a height limitation
of 24 m.

Suspended within the lobby volume, a

Kolkata, India wood wrapped corridor acts as an open
bar overlooking the lobby while leading
into a restaurant at the upper level. A glass
punctuated floor with colour changing lights
echo the exterior wall composition in this open
bar corridor with a linear glass bar counter.
Angled trapezoidal planes, punctuated with
varied compositions, fold down from the ceiling
to create two private dining areas within the
restaurant space and fragment the volume into
smaller spaces that are lent more privacy. The
restaurant design thus creates compositions of
form that are varied depending upon which
part they are being perceived from.

East Hong Kong

The name "EAST" reflects the design concept
which interprets the contemporary Oriental
travel experience as being world class, efficient,
modern, playful and with a touch of culture.
This project is designed for a long time which
takes a lot of energy and money for the process.
It is excellent in the appearance, arrangement
Hong Kong, China and function in which all the appliances are
connected with each other well. The materials
in the building are chosen by strict standards to
make sure of the quality of the project.

Special droplights in the restaurant and

comfortable seating provide guests with a great
dining atmosphere. Decorations and furniture
in the bar also create a nice space for relaxing.

Empire Riverside Hotel & "Brauhaus"

This four-star hotel and a retail and office
building in St. Pauli, Hamburg is part of a
110,000-square-metre housing and office
development on the former Bavaria brewery
grounds. The extraordinary nature and history
of the Bavaria grounds – overlooking the river
Elbe – inspired the research for this project.
Hamburg, Germany
The relatively high ceiling and the glass curtain
wall made the restaurant seem extremely
spacious. The regular load-bearing columns
add a noble sense to the space. Modern tables
and chairs are placed by the windows, enabling
spectacular views when dining. In such an
environment, you would experience the luxury
of modern life. The chandeliers are a perfect
decoration during the day and at night.

Eurostar Madrid Tower Hotel

It is the highest hotel in Madrid, placed in a
tower of 56 floors, 31 of which are destined for
the hotel use.

Into the 30th floor are the two restaurants of

the Hotel provided by incredible views. One of
them is more useful for the daytime, with an
Madrid, Spain elegant but to the same fresh air ambience,
suitable to give breakfasts or meals. The design
of the space obtains this character with the
combination of dark wood, silver and blocked
elements, and the colours purple, orange and
green. The other restaurant is conceived with a
daring design for one restaurant à la carte more
select and elegant. In this case it is the black and
white, colours that mark the rule of the general
design, from the wall up to the roof in white;
the counterpoint is given for the floor made of
black heat with small pieces in white. The result
is a very sophisticated and special atmosphere.

Fitzwilliam Hotel Belfast

Belfast, Ireland

In the Fitzwilliam Belfast, the designers have

referenced some traditional domestic typologies
again.

The private dining room is a unique feature

to the hotel, a glazed pavilion shrouded in
deep purple sheer curtains poised above the
inglenook and overlooking the main lobby
with its series of dramatic "Allegro" Gold wire
chandeliers. The bar is deliberately moody and
quite dark. A notable feature is the burnished
brass coffers to the ceiling, a detail followed
through in the brass front to the bar and the
retro styled screens between booths. The
restaurant likewise plays with ideas of openness
and enclosure. Each of the three rooms has a
pair of oak refectory tables as the centrepiece
above which hang large, feature pendants.
1. Comfortable seating in the bar
2. Rectangular droplights above the tables
3. Delicate dishware on the table

Fortress Hotel
Fortress was a challenge to C&C Studio because
it was originally designed architecturally as a 3
star budget hotel.

A sexy bar is open with hanging lounge seats. In

the dining area, people could enjoy a beautiful
view of the site when enjoying dishes. This is
Sri Lanka Sri Lanka’s first very contemporary and modern
resort. Others in the past more or less followed
the maestro Jeffery Bawa's style of design, so
well known particularly in Sri Lanka and the
rest of the world. It gave the designers an
opportunity to do something of good design in
this part of the world and hopefully to create a
place for others to experience the same beauty
that they found there.

the Place de la République, surrounded by
boutiques, art galleries and small restaurants.
Located in the busy heart of the city, Hotel
Gabriel is a metropolitan oasis in the truest
sense of the term. The design reveals a firm
dedication to guest rejuvenation and relaxation

Gastwerk Hotel
Seasoned hotelier Kai Hollmann turned Hamburg's
19th-century municipal gasworks ("Gaswerk")
into Europe's first loft-style hotel look as easy
as dropping a "t" into its name, instantly
transforming the complex into a "guest works".

Sheer curtains on either side point the way

Hamburg, Germany to the bar and restaurant or to the seven
conference rooms. Pure functionality is still
expressed by exposed pipes and naked brick
walls, but interior designers Regine Schwethelm
and Sibylle von Heyden found that the brick
actually provided a warm backdrop. They set
about contrasting the building’s rough edges
with soothing textures, slick and simple MDF
furniture, oversized armchairs and touches
of Asia – an imported style prevalent in this
seafaring city.

commissioned as part of a team to convert it
Montana, USA into a luxury dude ranch.

The existing facility was redesigned and

expanded. The restaurant and bar design is in

Harbour Plaza 8 Degrees Hotel is located at the

east side of Kowloon Peninsula near Past Kai
Tak Airport Zone. Surrounded by old buildings
and residences, it is not a hot spot of Tourism
in Hong Kong. With several circumstances, the
prerequisite from the client must be a unique
design to create a talking point for everyone.
The designer brainstormed for days in designing
an unprecedented design concept. Highlight 8
degree is known as perfect 3D visualisation in
space. Also, a numeral "8" is a fortunate symbol
in traditional Chinese society.

The intertwining print makes eye illusion but

by various angles between ceiling and front

the same amusing effects at cuisine time too!

Hospes Madrid

Madrid, Spain

Originally an affluent apartment house with

wrought iron balconies, the handsome red
brick Hospes Madrid is an icon of Bourbon
Restoration period architecture. Gracious sense
of hospitality extends throughout the hotel,
where a tranquil, opulent ambience is achieved
through white marble and gold details offset by
dark fine wood.

The Senzone restaurant offers a formal dining

room with an oak coffered ceiling and stucco
work – in contrast to the luminous interior patio
where guests can relax on comfortable sofas
and listen to whispering water as they drink
at the hotel bar. Hospes Madrid’s imaginative
array of modern additions accentuate an overall
sense of permanent privilege and eternal
elegance.

Hotel Benkiraï is located right next to the town
centre and the most beautiful beaches, just
close enough to appreciate the light of the
Riviera, the fragances of Provence, the warmth
of seasons spent at the poolside and the
proximity of the Mediterranean.

Saint-Tropez, France The restaurant opens onto a long terrace

and adapts to suit the time of day: sun light
disappears, to make way for candlelit dinners
around the swimming pool. The indoor air-
conditioned bar doubles up as an outdoor bar
with exotic, organic parasols. The stainless
steel masts dance together supporting Batyline

Hotel Condesa df
This hotel project recycled an apartment
building dating from 1928, catalogued by
Mexico's National Beaux Arts Institute. The
inside of the building was demolished to build
an opened patio, which is the central space of
the project.

Mexico City, Mexico The patio and the two levels that were added

to the original structure were built with a steel 3

structure and reinforced concrete flagstones.
Restaurant and bar services are located at
the ground level to make the best use of the
pedestrian flow in the street. Crowning the

areas for the guests. This terrace in the evenings

steel and snake skin, and the front desk,
Mexico D.F., Mexico completely cocooned by walls and false ceiling

Hotel Palomar Los Angeles

Challenged to recreate and reposition this
property the design team took its cues from its
location: one of the world's premiere addresses
amidst the iconic luxury high rises along the
glamorous Wilshire Corridor. Developing an
elegant design vocabulary comprised of a
high-contrast graphic palette and an array
Los Angeles, USA of luxurious finishes, the design team has
transformed the former Doubletree into the
sophisticated and stylish Hotel Palomar with
a distinctly residential feel, reminiscent of its
neighbouring high-rise penthouses.

The dark colours in the restaurant and bar

create an elegant atmosphere for the guests.
The delicate dishes, comfortable seating, unique

atmospheric lights, all provide the guests with
fine experiences.

Hotel Principe di Savoia

Hotel Principe di Savoia has undergone an
exciting transformation. The lobby and bar
were redesigned by acclaimed international
architect, Thierry Despont. 2

His vision is to bring the Principe Bar to life, 3

making it more vibrant and engaging, while

Milan, Italy retaining some of the original features such as
the beautiful marble and wood panelling. The
centrepiece of the room is to be a custom-made
banquette that will "wrap around" a grand
piano, perfect for intimate musical soirees.
The redesign of the hotel's famous bar further
enhanced its legendary sumptuous style. The

Hotel Rho Fiera Milano

A sober and functional building dating back
to the early 1900s has been transformed into a
contemporary business hotel as the result of an
important operation in industrial archeology.
Where cotton was once woven, now new
business relationships will be woven.

Milan, Italy The project brings hospitality to an industrial

building, establishing a functional continuity
of space. Many of the hotel’s elements echo
the building’s original purpose, whether in
terms of function, as already mentioned, or
style, atmosphere and the choice of materials

Hotel Ritter
The interior architects JOI-Design were assigned
to create a four-star superior design hotel out
of the existing one. For the earthly pleasures,
it was taken care of extensively. Besides the
traditional restaurant for the sophisticated
but down-to-earth German dishes, there are
several other locations: A new lobby bar, which
Frankfurt, Germany is linked to the lobby and the restored knight
cellar, classic and cosy in its vault, close to the
new wine cellar. And as a new highlight in the
restaurant scene, the new gourmet restaurant
"Wilden Ritter" (wild knight). Little details like
a picture of a belling deer in the private dining
or the row of little antlers on a wall complete
the design. To make everything perfect, a show-
kitchen with the possibility to dine together on
a huge table was created.

are reflected in the entire design of the interior.

noodle restaurant uses celadon enamelled
volcanic basalt tiles. The mood in the speciality
fish restaurant is defined by the marine
setting. The fine dining Vine Restaurant is at
roof terrace level with dramatic views across
the racetrack and the marina. The private
dining room seats up to 14 and has a central
kaleidoscopic mirrored ceiling offset against a
sophisticated palette of dark wood, leather and
silk.
