INGREDIENT COMMENTS
The product contains < 5% quartz (crystalline silica) and < 0,001% respirable quartz dust.

3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION

GENERAL
Not regarded as a health hazard under current legislation.

HEALTH
Dust particles can give sore and irritated eyes. The product contains small amounts dust of crystalline quartz which
can cause lung damage. It is also suspected to be carcinogenic. The risk for developing cancer depends on
exposure time- and level.

FIRE AND EXPLOSION


Substance or preparation is not combustible.

ENVIRONMENT
Not regarded as hazardous to the environment.

4. FIRST AID MEASURES

INHALATION
Move the exposed person to fresh air at once. If respiratory problems, artificial respiration/oxygen. Get medical
advice if discomfort develops.

SKIN CONTACT
Rinse with water.

EYE CONTACT
Remove any contact lenses. Flush immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids. Get medical advice if
any discomfort continues.

INGESTION
Rinse nose, mouth and throat with water. Drink plenty of water.

MEDICAL INFORMATION
Treat symptomatically.

Use extinguishing media appropriate for surrounding fire.

METHODS FOR CLEANING UP


Collect in containers and seal securely. Avoid dust formation. Flush area with water. Be aware of risk of slippery
surface. In case of spillage to watercourse or lake: The product will sink.

Avoid inhalation of dust. Avoid handling which causes dust formation. Avoid spilling, skin and eye contact.

EXPOSURE CONTROL
Provide adequate general and local exhaust ventilation. Provide eyewash station. Wash hands after each shift and
before eating, smoking or toilet use.

RESPIRATORY PROTECTION
Wear mask with filter P2 or P3 if formation of dust.

EYE PROTECTION
Use tight fitting goggles if dust is generated.

HAND PROTECTION
Use protective gloves made of: Rubber or plastic.

GENERAL
In industry, inhalation represents the main hazard.

INHALATION
Short time exposure may cause unpleasantness and irritation of upper respiratory tract. Repeated or prolonged
inhalation may result in development of silicosis. This could cause permanent impaired lung function. The product
contains small amounts of quartz which is considered an experimental carcinogen.

SKIN CONTACT
Not expected to be irritant.

EYE CONTACT
May cause irritation.

INGESTION
May cause discomfort.
