CHAPTER I
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY:
INTRODUCTION
TVL strand stand for Technical Vocational-Livelihood and the TVL
Strands is one of the two strands or track offered in Senior High School; the
other one is the Academic strands or track, there’s more to the TVL or
Technical Vocational-Livelihood strands in Senior High School that meet the
eye of everyone. The TVL strand is supposed to prepare Junior High School
students for early employment, this article expounds or reasons why Senior
High School students must not discount and most, in fact, consider the TVL or
Technical Vocational-Livelihood strand. Technical Vocational-Livelihood made
by government because not everybody or everyone can or will go to college that
why the government made this and also they want the student to choose the
TVL or Technical Vocational-Livelihood strand because TVL strand can get you
employed right after Senior High School.
But there is a big problem about this track, almost of the grade 10
students afraid or not prepared to choose this kind of strand. Base on the
other researcher’s the students who afraid to choose this track because of
lack of knowledge and experience about computer. And base on them, they
afraid to choose this track because they don’t know more about manipulating a
computer, based on them they only know the basic of the computer. But not at
all, know the basic of the computer and also one of the problem of this track.
TVL or Technical Vocational-Livelihood strand have own reside too or have
own positive side. Government supposed to prepared grade 10students for
better learning and experience while they don’t have money to pursue their
study at college. Because not all can’t or cannot afford college. That why
government made this track for make students prepared for early employment.
HYPOTHESIS:
HO- There are significant differences in the study of the perception of grade 10
students in terms of choosing TVL or Technical Vocational-Livelihood strand
when group into age and sex.
HA-There are differences between the observed variable in present and in the
dependent variables.
CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK:
The conceptual framework shows the relationship between independent and
dependent variables.
INDEPENDENT VARIABLES: DEPENDENT VARIABLES:
-Perception of grade 10 students -Age and sex.
In terms of choosing Technical
Vocational-Livelihood strands.
DEFINITION OF TERMS:
TECHNICA- Relating to particular subject, art, or craft, or its techniques.
LIVELIHOOD- A livelihood is a means of making a living. It encompasses
people’s capabilities, assets, income and activities required to secure the
necessities of life.
SENIOR HIGH- Is a secondary school that students attend in the three or four
highest grade before collage. A high school where someone is freshman,
sophomore, junior and senior in 9th,10th,11th and 12th grades is an example of a
senior high school.
KEYBOARDING- Is the activity of typing information into a computers or word
processor, exercise or practice the skill in keyboard.
