The interest of consumer will be protected through
various laws passed by parliament from time to time.
In 1989, Parliament has passed “Consumer Protection Act
1986" The Consumer Protection Act of 1986 was the first significant
legislation in India aimed at protecting consumers.
The “Consumer Protection Act 1986” amended in
2019 and now is “Consumer Protection Act 2019”Consumer

India has a comprehensive legal framework for
consumer protection, evolving from the Consumer
Protection Act of 1986 to the more recent Consumer
Protection Act of 2019. This framework aims to
safeguard consumer rights and ensure fair trade
practices.
