Administrative Office: -
PIMS College of Nursing, functioning under V N Public Health & Educational trust,
established in the year 2011 is attached to Palakkad Institute of Medical Sciences
Hospital, which is a 300 bedded Super specialty Hospital. The campus is situated 22
kms away from Palakkad town in Palakkad – Coimbatore route and situate just opposite
to the Walayar Deer Park.
This college offer B.Sc. Nursing Degree Programme of 4 year duration as specified
by Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS), approved by Indian Nursing
Council (INC) & Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council (KNMC).
Admission process of this college is through college website. Application form
can be downloaded either online or can be collected from college office by paying
an amount of ₹.800/-.
This prospectus contains the rules and regulations for selection and admission
to the seats to be filled by management of PIMS College of Nursing for the
Academic year 2023-2024.
This prospectus is subject to modification/addition/deletion as may be deemed
necessary by the college and subject to the Judgements of Honorable Courts of
law.
II . NUMBER OF SEATS
The annual intake for B.Sc Nursing is 40.
All the candidates admitted shall pay the fees fixed by Government of Kerala / Fee
Regulatory Committee and as approved or modified by competent authorities.
Academic :
(i) Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher
Secondary Education of Kerala or equivalent examinations recognized by any of the
Universities in the State of Kerala with Aggregate of 50 % marks in Physics, Chemistry,
Biology and 50 % marks in English in second year only are eligible for admission.
(ii) Relaxation in marks:-
(a) Candidates belonging to SEBC (Socially and Educationally Backward Classes) in the
State of Kerala with total annual family income up to Rs.6 lakhs will have relaxation of 5%
marks. The Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates in the state of Kerala need
only a pass in the qualifying Examination.
(b) Those candidates claiming relaxation of marks shall produce necessary certificates from
the authority concerned. There will be no reservation of seats for SEBC and or SC/ST
candidates under Management quota.
Eligibility Certificates: Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from
places other than State of Kerala shall produce the certificate of recognition and
equivalency of qualifying examination from KUHS, Thrissur. This should be furnished at
the time of interview for admission.
Age:
(i) Applicants should have completed 17 years of age on the 31st December 2021. No
relaxation of the minimum age will be allowed.
(ii) Self-attested copy of relevant page of school record namely SSLC/ICSE/CBSE/
certificate showing the date of birth / copy of birth certificate should be produced at
the time of admission.
IV . HOW TO APPLY
Application for admission to B.Sc. Nursing course can be registered online through a single
application. The provision for applying online is available at the website www.pimsnc.com.
Submission of more than one application by a candidate will lead to rejection of the
candidate.
Application Fee:
(i) The application fee will be ₹.800/-. The payment can be done directly in the nursing
college office. Application submission will be completed only after uploading scanned copy
of Fees paid receipt.
(iii) Application fee once remitted will not be refunded in any circumstances.
Availability of Prospectus
Prospectus can be downloaded from www.pimsnc.com. or can be had from the
Nursing College office.
Remittance of Application Fee and Submission of Application Form
There will be three stages for the submission of an application form and all stages
are mandatory.
Candidates shall complete all the stages of submission as per the time
schedule which will be notified through the website/media.
Stage 1- Entering candidate details online and creating a login ID and password.
Stage 2- Online payment of an application fee either by uploading scanned copy of
fees paid receipt.
Stage 3- Completion of an application submission.
Direct Submission of application in the college office: Fill the application form by
direct payment of an application fees at the nursing college office with requisite documents.
They can also need to submit application online and upload fees paid receipt.
(i) Candidate shall visit the official website www.pimsnc.com and click the link “Online
Application”.
(ii) The personal details of the candidate have to be filled in the page thus obtained and
saved.
(iii) Candidate are requested to create a login id and Password for future references.
(iv) Click ‘SAVE’ Button, Candidate will be guided to Payment Screen. Application fee can
be paid by uploading scanned copy of fees paid receipt.
(v) On successful payment of Application fee Candidate will be guided to Next Page, Upload
the Photo of the candidate (in JPEG format up to 30 KB size).
(vi) Click Save and Final Confirmation.
(a) Out of 50% management seats 35% seats will be filled by managements from
among the applications received by the college on the basis of merit list prepared based on
the marks obtained in the qualifying examination in the core subjects as mentioned in the
eligibility criteria.
(b) Out of 50% management seats 15% NRI seats shall be filled up from qualified
students as per G.O (MS) No.243/2014/HRFWD dated 6.08.2014 of Govt. of Kerala. The
documents shall be submitted at the time of admission.
Resolution of tie while ranking: In the case of a tie in the total marks, the
marks in Biology will be counted. If there is still a tie the marks in Chemistry and Physics
will be counted. If a tie still exists, the age of the candidate will be taken into account, the
elder will be preferred to the younger.
Validity of the merit list: The published merit list will be valid till the date up
to which the merit list shall be kept alive in terms of instruction/direction of competent
authority.
Inclusion in the merit list will not entitle the applicant eligible for admission to the
course, unless the applicant satisfies the rules regarding the eligibility for admission and
other conditions as laid down in
the Prospectus.
The selected candidates will be informed about the date and time of admission
through the website.
The students shall pay all fees of the 1st year of the course at the time of
admission which will not be refunded at any circumstances.
All other fees will be as per order no FRC 50/22/B.Sc/P.BSc/M.Sc/NURSING Fee regulatory committee
for medical education in Kerala.
If any candidate discontinues the course, after closing of admission as notified by the
authority, the candidate has to pay the full fee of the remaining course (4 yrs). The
Collection of liquidated damages shall be as per the final decision of the AFRC or Court of
Law.
(ii) Use of Mobile Phone: Use of Mobile Phone by students are restricted in the campus and
hostels. Any violation of this prohibition will lead to stringent disciplinary action by the
college authorities.
(iii) Any other items not specifically covered in this prospectus will be decided by the
Controller of admission.
IX . UNDERTAKING REGARDING NON-INVOLVEMENT IN
RAGGING
Each candidate and parent has to sign the undertaking given below at the time of
admission (as per the provisions of anti-ragging verdict by the Honorable Supreme
Court).
1. That I have read and understood the directives of the Honorable Supreme
Court of India on anti- ragging and the measures proposed to be taken in
the above references. (Available at http://www.antiragging.in/)
2. That I understood the meaning of Ragging and know that the ragging in
any form is a punishable offence and the same is banned by the Court of
Law.
3. That I have not been found or charged for my involvement in any kind of
ragging in the past. However, I undertake to face disciplinary
action/legal proceedings including expulsion from the Institute if the
above statement is found to be untrue or the facts are concealed, at any
stage in future.
4. That I shall not resort to ragging in any form at any place and shall abide
by the rules/laws prescribed by the Courts, Govt. of India and the
Institute authorities for the purpose from time to time.
