II. Significant Accomplishments within the Last Three years

A. As an editor
Involvement as an editor of elementary materials was an immersion avenue in
the beginning level of learning which enhanced understanding of how some learners in
the secondary level lacked such skills needed for them to attain achievement in the grave
level competencies. This served as one benchmark in developing intervention materials to
reach out the secondary learners whose reading levels are below their grade levels.

B. As a writer and author

Writing started from developing intervention materials in the school level and
was enhanced when tapped as a writer of Learning Activity Sheet for the English 10
competency Writing Research Report. The writing process underwent rigid critiquing
from the Division Content Editor which allowed the writer to acquire knowledge and
skills in developing learning materials. Not only it allowed the nominee to improve her
craft, but also improved integrity, patience, and commitment in the service especially
in the time crisis.
This opportunity also allowed the nominee to enhance previously written
intervention materials and publish to the National Library of the Philippines so that
other Filipino senior high school Learners would be able to utilize the quantitative
research material.

C. As a researcher
The developed Learning Activity Sheet was utilized in the distance learning
modality to continue education during the pandemic. To enhance the self-learning
material, a video lesson of the LAS was developed. It was also developed to enhance the
understanding of the learners in the lesson presented in the LAS. This was tested in
action research entitled Technology-Enhanced Learning Activity Sheet as a Tool in
Improving Grade 10 Learners’ Mastery Level and Learning Experiences in Writing

Research Report which was accepted last March 2022.

The knowledge and skills gained in this endeavor were used to encourage and
assist co-teachers to develop their own action research, used in planning, and in
analyzing and interpreting outcomes.
Thus, the research writing skills gained in writing action research and
attending research trainings were applied in devising evaluation report process and
analysis to improve conduct of school programs and activities. Example of it is the
Evaluation Report of the Conducted Earthquake Drill in Sept. 9, 2022, in which the
evaluation gleaned indicated that barely half of the learners agreed with the given
indicators and problems themed under teacher’s guidance, information dissemination,
sound system and inclusivity arose. Comments and suggestions from teachers were also
analyzed. The result of this was relayed to the proponent of the activity and discussed
during a meeting.

D. Reading program implementer

As a Master Teacher of the English subject, the nominee valued the importance
on the learners’ performance in reading as it is the basic competency in understanding
and applying lessons in other learning areas. Thus, Project RIGHHTS (Reading
Intervention for Grade 10 toward Heightened Higher-order Thinking Skills) was proposed
and implemented in the Grade 10 learners as English 10 is taught by the nominee with
another English teacher. Findings of the development project indicate that exposure to
reading enhances learners reading level from the Phil-IRI’s Frustration level to
Instructional and Independent reading level.

E. As facilitator/speaker and coach

Facilitating in a webinar was an opportune time to contribute to the continuation
of education during the pandemic as the nominee discussed one of the topics in the
Literacy Instruction for Elementary and secondary Schools’ English Teachers last July
20-24, 2020.
Another spot as a division facilitator to secondary English teachers was such a
humbling experience for the nominee to continuously grow professionally. Facilitating the
Division Training of English Teachers on the Content and Delivery of the Higher Order
Thinking Skills – Professional Learning Package (HOTS-PLP) not only imparted knowledge
and skills to fellow English teachers, but also enhanced the nominee’s confidence and
deepen her commitment to assist fellow teachers most especially in her home school.
The school-based In-Service Trainings and Learning Action Cells (LAC) were
excellent training grounds to develop communication skills. Thus, topics aligned to the
Key Result Area (KRA) of a Master Teacher were assigned to her.
Additionally, as previously coaching campus journalism writers not only in the
division but also in the regional and national level, the nominee was tapped as speaker in
school, Kasibu West District and Kayapa East District to impart writing skills in news
writing and advocacy in writing only the truth.
Thus, the nominee continuously coached learners in campus journalism as well
as monitor other teachers’ conduct of coaching to ensure learners’ achievement in the
activity.

F. As a LAC proponent
As a Master Teacher, she proposed and conducted LAC sessions as technical

assistance not only to her fellow language teachers but also to teachers in other learning
areas to improve instruction and teacher performance. By doing so, the participants
were grouped according to learning area; and expert facilitators were assigned to discuss
topics. Success of the LACs was due to the presentation of examples and situations in
the context of the subject teachers.
Aside from LAC session for the improvement of instruction, she also proposed
and conducted LAC in action research writing to enhance teachers’ skill in writing
research for their continuous professional improvement.

G. As a department head/school OIC

Designated as a department head of English and Filipino teachers was such a
rewarding accomplishment because the nominee came to know of the teachers’
weaknesses and strength. Their weaknesses were improved after giving technical
assistance while their strengths were acknowledged for them to sustain their commitment
in teaching. This was also an avenue for the nominee to learn and adjust to different
teachers’ personalities which was a way to strengthen tolerance, enhance compassion
and develop ways to reach out to their needs and help them to be more resilient and
confident in their chosen profession.
For greater responsibility and another avenue for leadership training, the
principal assigned the nominee as Officer in Charge for two months that every time the
principal was on a training or seminar, the nominee was given an oversight function to
make sure that everybody functions as tasked.

H. Chairman/ Coordinator
As a chairman in KRA 2-Curriculum and Learning of the School Based
management, the nominee ensured that all modes of verification were collected and
compiles according to criteria; thus, contributed to the SBM level 3 of the school.
The research chairperson assisted the teachers in crafting their action research,
validated their tools and quality assured their proposals before submitting to the division.
As a Curriculum Chairperson of the Junior High School, she ensures that all
competencies are taught in all grade levels of the junior high school department, teachers
conduct interventions to reach out to learners at risks of dropping and failing and
encourage all teachers to participate in all school activities.
She also disseminated to English teachers updates from the Education Program
Supervisor regarding programs in English as designated English coordinator.
Furthermore, she attended coordinators’ meeting whether in the division office or through
Zoom.
