ADMINISTRATION OF MULTI – FACTORED ASSESSMENT

SESSION GUIDE
Day/Time: Day 2 Session 1
Time Duration: 1 hour
Session Title: Multi-Factored Assessment Tool
References: MFAT Manual, NKCG

Objectives:

At the end of the session, the participants shall:

● appreciate the use of MFAT;

● be oriented on the administration of the Multi-Factored Assessment Tool –


familiarized with the materials to be used;
● discuss the Multi-Factored Assessment Tool its goals and objective, table of
specification, materials and test procedures
Resources Needed:

● Presentation/LCD/Laptop
Priming: Guessing Game (5 minutes)

Say before the game: “Good day everyone, I am __________________. I will be


facilitating the first session. Before we start, let us play a game. I will flash three
scrambled words on the screen---you guess what these words are. Is that clear?
Let’s start now.”

Guessing Game – scrambled words flashed on the screen: LEARNERS, ASSESSMENT,


DIFFICULTIES

Say after the game: “Those three words you just guessed are what our session is all
about--- the Multi-Factored Assessment

Activity: It’s Showtime! (20 minutes)


Discuss and demonstrate the following:
● Objectives of the session;

● Program design for the whole day sessions;

● Description Multi-factored Assessment Tool;

● Goals and objectives of the MFAT;

● Scope of Assessment;

● Table of Specification;

● Materials;

● and Test Procedures.

Analysis: Brainstorming (10 minutes)


1. In your understanding, how can you describe Multi-Factored Assessment Tool
(MFAT)?
2. If you could add another sub-skills in the 5 domains and what are those and why?
3. Do you think this MFAT will benefit you in teaching, if yes/no, why?
4. Is it important to conduct assessment to your learners? Why?

Abstraction: Discussion and Open Forum (10 minutes)

- Participants will ask questions on MFAT

Application: It’s Your Turn! (5 minutes)

(Read the instructions on the slide)

Simulation by group:

Each groups, will provide perspective on the administration on MFAT. They will
write it on Manila paper. They have only 5 minutes to prepare and 2 minutes to present.

(After all presentations, the facilitator will guide in the discussion of the observations)

Concluding Statement:

Say: “If learning is a treasure, patience is the key. Para sa mga batang Filipino,
teachers should have a ton of patience for the effective implementation of this
MFAT.”
