 INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATE

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Please read carefully and comply with all the instructions

Candidates will be allowed to appear in the examination only on producing e-Call letter, Relieving cum photo identification
letter duly signed by Controlling Office in charge, photograph and original Railway ID cards.

1. Candidature is PROVISIONAL. This E-Call letter does not, by itself, give any entitlement whatsoever for selection to
GDCE posts in any Zonal Railways/Pus.
2. Candidate has to write Self declaration in running hand (not in block / capital letters) as it appears on candidate’s
console in the given space on the E-call letter in presence of the Invigilator.
3. Candidates to note the following timings.

4. No Candidate will be allowed to enter the Exam Center after Gate closing time.
5. The Duration, No. of Questions of CBT as follows: -

6. Candidate will not be allowed to enter the examination hall without E-Call letter, Relieving cum photo identification
letter duly signed by Controlling Office in charge, Recent colour Pass-port size Photograph (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm),
Railway identity card/UMID card. Photocopy of the ID proof will not be allowed.
7. Candidates will be allowed to appear for CBT only at the nominated Center, on the date and time indicated in the
E-Call Letter
8. Request if any, for change of Examination Center, date and time will not be entertained.
9. Examination will commence after completing all formalities like taking bio metrics, attendance, collection of E-Call
letter etc.
10. Candidates will not be allowed to leave the examination hall until the examination is over. Candidates must
remain seated in their place till the end of the Examination.
11. Bags, Books, Note books, Pen, Pencil, Coins, Watch, Cards having chips, Calculators, Mobile phones,
Pager, Head phones, button hole cameras, scanner storage devices, Blue tooth and electronic
gadgets, Wallet etc. are strictly prohibited and banned inside the Examination Center premises. Candidature
will be cancelled/rejected on the spot even if any candidate is found with such item even in switch off or closed
mode besides initiation of D&AR action. The Railway/examination center shall not make any arrangement and is
not responsible for the safe custody of any such item.
12. Candidate must surrender Railway copy of the E-Call letter to the invigilator and retain the RRC foil candidate’s
copy which will be required at the time of document verification.
13. Candidates should strictly obey the instructions issued by the ECA/Railway Officials present at the Examination
Center/Hall.
14. RRC/SCR reserve the right to order cancellation/re-examination for of any candidate or group of candidates and
change Venue / Date of examination.
15. Candidates have to make their own arrangements for accommodation while coming for CBT.
16. Rough sheet will be provided to the candidate for rough work which will have to be returned after the test.
Candidate should write his/her name, signature and Roll number on the rough sheet(s).
17. The candidate can view the question paper in English and Hindi OR English and chosen Language.
18. There will be Negative marking. 1 mark shall be deducted for each wrong answer and 3 marks shall be awarded
for each correct answer.
19. If any candidate is found obstructing the conduct of the examination or creating disturbances at the examination
venue, his/her candidature shall be summarily cancelled besides initiation of disciplinary proceedings. In case of
walkout, for any reason whatsoever no re-examination will be taken
20. The mock test link will be available on website of RRC. Use this link to familiarize yourself on how to view/answer
questions on the exam day. In the event any mistake, doubt or confusion in the exam and opted language, English
version shall prevail.
21. Candidates are advised to refer to RRC/SCR website for guidelines regarding the examination, downloading City
intimation cum Relieving and photo identification letter, downloading of e-Call letter, mock-test, objection tracker
on questions/answer keys etc. Decision of RRC/SCR_on_the challenges on questions/answer keys will be final and
no further representation will be entertained.
22. No supplementary exams will be conducted under any circumstances.
23. Candidates are advised to locate their test center and its accessibility before the test so that they can reach the
center on time on the day of the test.
24. This e-Call Letter is valid only for the test date, shift and time as specified thereon.
25. Candidates availing assistance of scribe will have to communicate with the scribe only in the language opted by
them in the online application.
26. During the exam i.e. at the mid of the exam, physical LTI and signature will be taken in the attendance sheet.
27. Special instructions, if any, given by the Invigilator should be followed strictly.
28. Both the PwBD candidate and Scribe should carry a valid and original Photo ID to the Examination Venue, without
which they will not be permitted to appear for CBT.In case of PwBD candidates with scribe, Candidates as well as
Scribe must affix Passport size (3.5cm X 4.5cm) Recent Colour Photographs in the space provided on the RRC
portion of the e-Call Letter. Candidates who are eligible for scribe and have not opted for scribe at the time of
filling up of online application can also avail scribe facility by bringing their own scribe for the exam. For this
purpose, candidates have to fill up details in the enclosed proforma and submit the same at the Test Center on the
day of the exam.
