ACTIVITY COMPLETION REPORT

Name of Activity: NATIONAL AND LOCAL ELECTIONS 2022


Date: MAY 2 – 13, 2022, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Venue: Marasbaras Central School
Participants/Persons Involved: Electoral Boards, COMELEC, Teachers
Objective/Agenda: a. to vote for incoming government officials in the whole country.

The synchronized fully automated National and Local Elections (NLE) was conducted on Monday, 09 May
2022 as mandated in Section 2 of RA 7166. Likewise, the ARMM elections were also synchronized with the 2019
NLE per RA 10153.
It’s not just the presidential post that will be decided on 9 May. Thousands of positions are being contested
across the country – from the vice presidency and Senate seats, to 18,000 local positions, including city mayors and
provincial governors.

Highlights of the Activity


May 2-6, 2022
The teachers, who served the elections, prepared their respective classrooms that will be used as
the polling places.
On May 6, 2022, the Final Testing and Sealing was conducted by the members of the electoral
Boards.
The undersigned is a member of the electoral board and was designated as the Third Member of
precinct 0325A and 0325B, Cluster 141.

May 9 – 13, 2022


On May 8, 2022, the election paraphernalia were gathered and retrieved by the electoral boards at
the city hall of Tacloban.
The election started at exactly 6:00 AM of May 9, 2022.
There were no issues found on the VCM since it was tested of its capability and diagnosed for
possible problems before the elections.
There were no voters who challenged the electoral boards. The election process was also smooth.
After the closing of precincts (6:00 PM), the electoral boards were completing all the required
reports to be submitted (i.e. Election Returns, Audit Log, Statistical Reports, etc.), securing the
MMC, and other election paraphernalia.
These reports were submitted to COMELEC, Kanhuraw, and Legislative Building respectively.

Findings: While the Philippines' national and local elections in May 2022 will be the first to be held in the aftermath
of a global pandemic, social media will undoubtedly influence the outcome. The 2016 presidential election was widely
regarded as the Philippines' first mainstream "social media election." Rodrigo Duterte swept into power with the help
of what appeared to be a "army" of devoted social media followers in that election. Scholars of Philippine politics
credited Duterte's victory to his campaign's savvy use of social media, which included spreading false information. To

say, however, that Duterte's victory was solely due to his astute social media strategy exaggerates the power of virtual
manipulation at the time and ignores the symbiotic relationship between online fervor and electoral success.
