Objectives
III. Procedure
A. Preliminary Activity
The teacher will start the class by conducting a prayer to be followed by greetings,
checking of attendance and collecting of assignments.
B. Motivation
The teacher will provide a series of video presentations and ask the students what type
of communication barrier can be found in it to be followed by questions to enhance
learning.
C. Lesson Proper
The teacher will provide a brief discussion on what communication means. She then, will
ask the students if they have experienced any difficulties in communication
. - Introduce the topic of barriers to effective communication and explain that
understanding these barriers is crucial for improving communication skills.
Direct Instruction - Present the different types of barriers to effective communication:
1.Physical Barriers: environmental factors like noise, distance, etc.
2. Language Barriers: differences in language or jargon.
3. Psychological Barriers: personal prejudices, stress, emotional state.
4.Cultural Barriers: differences in cultural norms and values.
The teacher will provide examples of each barrier and discuss how they can impact
communication.
D. Generalization
The student will share their understanding on the different communication barriers.
IV. Evaluation
Group Activity - Divide students into small groups and distribute scenario cards that depict
situations with communication barriers.
Each group will: - Read their scenario. -
Identify the specific barrier(s) present.
Discuss how the barrier impacts communication.
Develop a strategy to overcome the identified barrier.
After 15 minutes, each group will present their scenario, barriers, and strategies to the
class.
