EIGRP
• Cisco developed EIGRP as a proprietary
Hybrid Routing Protocol. But after 2013 it
became as standard protocol.
• EIGRP is an excellent choice for large, multi-
protocol networks that employ primarily Cisco
devices.
• EIGRP stands for Enhanced Interior Gateway
Routing Protocol.

Main Goals EIGRP
The two main goals of EIGRP are:

• To provide a loop-free routing environment


• Rapid convergence.
The metric used by EIGRP is a composite metric
that primarily considers bandwidth and delay.
This metric is more accurate than hop count in
determining the distance to a destination
network.

EIGRP
• The Diffusing Update Algorithm (DUAL) used
by EIGRP guarantees loop-free operation
while it calculates best routes from source to
destination as well.
• DUAL synchronizes all affected routers
simultaneously.
• The administrative distance of EIGRP is 90.
• Whereas the administrative distance of RIP is
120.

EIGRP
• EIGRP is a good choice for complex enterprise
networks that are composed primarily of Cisco
routers.
• EIGPR supports maximum router up to 224.
• EIGRP does not send complete tables in its
updates. After routers convergence it send
update only if any changes occurred in
topology.

‫‪ :Reply‬پاسخ به درخواست مربوط به مسیر خاص‬ ‫‪.4‬‬
‫‪ :ACK‬تایید دریافت ‪Update‬‬ ‫‪.5‬‬

‫جدول های ‪EIGRP‬‬

‫• پروتکل ‪EIGRP‬دارای ‪ 3‬جدول زیر می باشد‪:‬‬

‫‪ :Routing .1‬بهترین مسیر در این جدول قرار می گیرد‬


‫‪ :Neighbor .2‬شامل لیست همسایه ها‬
‫‪ :Topology .3‬مسیرهایی که می توانند جایگزین بهترین مسیر‬
‫شوند در این جدول قرار می گیرند‬

‫جدول های ‪EIGRP‬‬

‫‪(Best Route‬بهترین مسیر) به نام ‪ Successor‬عنوان می شود و با حرف‬


‫‪ S‬نشان داده می شود و در جدول ‪ Routing‬قرار می گیرد‪.‬‬

‫‪(Backup Route‬مسیر پشتیبان) به نام ‪ Feasible Successor‬عنوان می‬


‫شود و با حروف ‪ FS‬نشان داده می شود و در جدول ‪ Topology‬قرار می‬
‫گیرد‪.‬‬
‫‪ Feasible Distance‬همان ‪ Metric‬روتر تا مقصد می باشد و با حروف‬
‫‪ FD‬نمایش داده می شود‪.‬‬
‫‪ Reported Distance‬نشان دهنده ‪ Metric‬همسایه روترتا مقصد می‬
‫باشد و با حروف ‪ RD‬نمایش داده می شود‪.‬‬
‫نوت ‪ :‬زمانی یک ‪ Route‬می تواند ‪FS‬شود که ‪ RD‬آن ‪ Route‬از ‪FD‬‬
‫مسیر ‪ Successor‬کمتر باشد‪ Reported Distance .‬را بنام‬
‫‪ Advertisement Distance‬نیز یاد میکند‪.‬‬

‫نحوی همسایگی و تبادل اطالعات جداول مسیریابی‬

‫روتر ‪R1‬روی تمام اینترفیس های خود یک ‪ Hello‬ارسال می کند‪.‬‬ ‫•‬


‫روتر ‪R2‬این پیغام را دریافت می کند و یک ‪Hello‬به همراه یک‬ ‫•‬
‫‪Update‬که شامل اطالعات جدول مسیریابی خود است ارسال می کند‬
‫روتر ‪R1‬یک پیام ‪ACK‬ارسال می کند‬ ‫•‬
‫روتر ‪R1‬یک ‪Update‬حاوی اطالعات جدول مسیریابی خود را‬ ‫•‬
‫ارسال می کند‬
‫• روتر ‪R2‬یک پیام ‪ACK‬ارسال می کند‬

‫نحوی همسایگی و تبادل اطالعات جداول مسیریابی‬

‫و به این صورت دو روتر با یکدیگر همسایه شده و از این پس در صورت‬


‫ایجاد تغییر در جدول مسیریابی فقط ان تغییر را به همسایه خود اعالم می کند‬
‫و همچنین در مدت زمان های مشخص برای یکدیگر ‪ Hello‬ارسال می کنند‬
‫تا به این وسیله روتر مقابل را از حضور خود اگاه کنند و اگر روتر در مدت‬
‫زمان مشخص ‪ Hello‬از طرف مقابل دریافت نکرد ان روتر را خارج از‬
‫سرویس در نظر گرفته و تمام ‪ Route‬هایی که از ان گرفته است را از جدول‬
‫مسیریابی خود حذف می کند‪.‬‬
‫نکته‪ :‬مدت زمان ارسال ‪ Hello‬به نوع خط بستگی دارد به طور معمول این‬
‫مدت زمان هر ‪ 5‬ثانیه یکبار است و اگر ‪ 15‬ثانیه(‪ )Dead Time‬از روتر‬
‫مقابل ‪ Hello‬دریافت نکرد اینطور تصور می کند که روتر از سرویس دهی‬
‫خارج شده است‪.‬‬

• Add connected network addresses
– # (Router)#network [IP address]
Commands for EIGRP protocol:
1. Show ip route
2. Show ip EIGRP topology
3. Show ip EIGRP Neighbor
4. Show ip protocol
