Introduction
The Network Management System software receives alarm information from equipment linked to the network. All
these alarms are displayed on one screen page.

The software makes it possible to:

 Inform the operator of new alarms.
 Visualize each alarm on one line with specific information such as location of the equipment, date and time of
the first occurrence.
 Filter the alarms by using one or more criteria and display the result.
 Export the alarms list to an XML format file.

Note: All the alarms managed by the Network Management System (NMS) depend on the PAS/PIDS hardware and
network. Therefore, the screens showing the Man Machine Interface of the NMS in this document are only shown as
examples and may differ from the screens of your actual system.
The exact list of alarms corresponding to your actual system may be included as an appendix of this document.

Overview of the main screen page

1 2

The main screen page is composed of the following:

1. Filter Menu bar: Selection of the criteria for the display of alarms list.
2. Settings Menu bar.
3. Display of the alarms list.

About the display of the alarms list:

The display order of the list is the date and time of the first occurrence of each alarm.
When a new alarm is taken into account by the software, the alarm is immediately added at the end of the list (date
and time of the first occurrence).
When the same alarm appears again after the first occurrence, only the counter is incremented. When an alarm was
inactive and becomes active again, the date and time are updated according to the date and time of its reactivation.

Purge of the alarms:

The alarms list is verified every day at a configurable time (default verification time is midnight) in order to identify
the expired alarms.
All the alarms which reached the expiration period (default expiration period is 14 days) are purged from the list.
