IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson or The teacher will use research-based knowledge in teaching how to learn
presenting the new lesson letters in young children to help them recognize letters.
The teacher will use English and Mother Tongue as a mode of
communication to facilitate teaching and learning.

ELICIT
Before starting the class, the teacher will impose rules and policies to
maintain peace and order inside the classroom.
 Raise your hand if you want to answer.
 Raise your hand for any clarifications.
 Raise your hand if you want to go to the restroom.
 Cleanliness should be observed at all times.
 No eating unless it’s time for recess.
 Listen carefully to the teacher.

 Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or
sneeze.
 Cover your mouth and nose using your upper sleeve or elbow when
you cough or sneeze.
 Put the used tissue in a water basket.
 Wash hands with soap and water after coughing and sneezing.
Review
Ask: What is a noun?
Explain: A noun is a word that names a person, place, thing, event or idea.
Drill
 Show an energizer before starting the new lesson.
 Show pictures of milk, juice, oil, rice, eggs, cups, etc.
 Ask: What do you see?
Which pictures show things we can count?
What about the others? Can you count them?

FOR THE SAKE OF HONEY

Are you busy as a bee? The truth is bees work so hard that they actually kill
themselves working. A worker bee often works six weeks and then dies.
Then a young worker bee takes his place. Now, no one ever wants to work

Group Activity
 Divide the class into three (3) groups.
 Each group is given different activity that can help assess their learning.
 Through differentiated activities, all are given the opportunity to perform and
participate in the learning activities.
 Group 1 will encircle the count nouns and box the mass nouns.
 Group 2 will paste pictures of count nouns in the right column and mass
nouns in the left column.
 And, Group 3 will give 5 examples each of count nouns and mass nouns.

Checking and Processing


 Each group will present their output to the class.
 Count nouns are name anyone or anything that can be counted and whose
plural form can be formed by adding -s or -es. Example: cups, flowers, eggs,
and heroes.

 Mass nouns refer to things which cannot be counted like water, sugar, salt,
milk, etc. They usually do not have a plural form so we add quantifiers or
R. determiners to make them plural. Example: a cup of milk, a tablespoon of
S. sugar, a teaspoon of salt, and a glass of water.
