To ensure the safety of the personnel/ equipment/ asset involved in lifting

OBJECTIVE
activities of slickline / wireline operations

Signaller: Co-ordinate the lifting movements and maintains radio- and/or visual
communication with crane operator and persons close to the load
Slinger: Inspect the rigging, select rigging to suit the load, install the
accessories and connect/disconnect the load

RESPONSIBILITIES Lifting supervisor (PIC): Co-ordinate and control all aspects of lifting
operations on site. (Banks man can be the lifting supervisor for routine lift). To
ensure lifting operation is implementing according to the Lift plan)
Crane Operator: Pre-use inspection of crane and rig up of the crane; operating
the crane and perform the lift in a safe manner taking the signals from the Banks
man / Signaller only, unless in an emergency.

5. Steps of lifting operation:

Step 1: Pre-Lift Preparations

• Conduct toolboxes talk with all involved personnel.
• Confirm communication protocols between the crane operator and the ground crew and agree
communications method to be used (hand signals or radios).
• Note: A dedicated banksman wearing a reflective jacket is required to give signals to the crane
operator with standard hand signals
• Review emergency procedures and contact information.
• Pre-use equipment checks completed.
• All lifting equipment should have the SWL / WLL required for the lift clearly marked.
• Ensure the crane and all lifting equipment are inspected, certified, and in proper working condition.
• All equipment to have the correct colour code.
• Weight, size, shape, certification, and centre of gravity determined.
• Check Proximity hazards, obstructions, load path and lay down area load bearing capacity.
• Check Environmental conditions including weather, wind speed & direction.
• Check for loose/potential dropped objects.
• Ensure lift area is barricaded and clear of personnel not involved in the Lifting Operations.
• Ensure Safe Access & Emergency Evacuation.

Step 2: Rig Up
• Position the mobile crane in a stable location on the rig site.
• Extend outriggers and set up any required counterweights based on load charts.
• Verify the crane's load radius and ensure it is within safe limits.
• No Hand Contact with Load until below waste height.
• Conduct a pre-operational check of the crane, including all safety systems.
• Ensure the crane operator has a clear line of sight to the load and all necessary controls.
• Lift controlled by competent Banksman.
• Verify with crane Op, banksman and handler that all checks are complete and are ready to commence
lift.
• Make final check on wind / weather conditions.
• Prepare all landing areas required.

Step 3: Rig Down for BOP Pickup

• Lower the crane's hook to BOP level and attach the appropriate lifting equipment, wire rope sling
shackles, and lifting cap.
• Ensure the lifting equipment is properly sized and rated for the BOP stack's weight and configuration.
• Confirm that all rigging is secure and free from damage or defects.

Step 4: Load Pickup

• Slowly lift the BOP off the ground
• Ensure that the BOP stack is clear of any obstructions during the pickup.
• Lift the load slightly to verify that it is stable and properly balanced.
• Communicate with the ground crew to ensure that the BOP stack is clear of the rig floor and any
personnel.

Step 5: Load Movement

• Lift the BOP to the desired height, taking care to maintain stability and control.
• Move the load to the well head Christmas tree with smooth and controlled movements.
• Use Tag line,

SOSCO-LFP-01 Date of Issue: 11/10/2023 Revision Date: NA Revision Number: 0 Page 3 of 7

• signalpersons/banksman to guide the crane operator and ensure safe navigation.
• Slowly lower the BOP stack into its final position with precision
• Ensure that the BOP stack aligns correctly with the wellhead or other equipment.
• Communicate with the ground crew for final adjustments and alignment.
• Once the BOP stack is securely in place, release tension on the rigging equipment.

Step 6: Rig Down

• Detach and stow the lifting equipment properly.
• Ensure that the crane is properly secured, and any outriggers or counterweights are retracted.
• Conduct a post-lift inspection of the crane, rigging, and the rig floor to ensure there are no issues.

Step 7: Post-Lift Debrief

• Hold a debriefing meeting to review the lift's success, identify any issues, and discuss lessons learned.
• Document the lift in the project's records, including the load weight, crane specifications, and any
incidents or observations.
