CHAPTER - 5

FREE BUT PRECIOUS

1. 'The time and tide wait for none.' Explain.

Ans 1 - The phrase "time and tide wait for none" means that time keeps moving
forward, regardless of what we do. Just like the tide of the sea, time doesn’t stop
or wait for anyone. This teaches us the importance of making the best use of the
time we have because once it’s gone, it can never be recovered.

approach teaches us that success requires hard work, dedication, and sometimes
putting aside distractions and pleasures until we reach our goals.

3. What is procrastination? How does it affect in achieving our goal?

- Procrastination is the act of delaying or postponing tasks that need to be done.

It negatively affects goal achievement because it wastes valuable time that could
have been used productively. When we procrastinate, we often miss
opportunities and may find ourselves rushing to complete tasks at the last
minute, which can lead to stress and lower-quality work.

4. How can you prioritize your work as a student?

Ans 4 - As a student, you can prioritize your work by identifying tasks that are
most urgent and important, and completing those first. For example, completing
homework or studying for an upcoming test should take precedence over less
critical tasks like watching TV or chatting with friends. It’s also helpful to create a
daily schedule or to-do list that organizes your tasks by importance and deadlines,
ensuring that you stay on track and make the best use of your time.
