CURVED OVERBATH SCREEN

INSTALLATION GUIDE
I M P O RTA N T Thank-you for choosing Merlyn. Please familiarise yourself with the fitting instructions before commencing fitting. 1 Check that you have the tools required 2 Check the installation site is compatible with size of door supplied 3 Check all the screen components 4 Check the installation kit is complete Any parts missing or damaged must be reported to your supplier within 5 days of purchase. DO NOT attempt to install the product unless you can tick ALL 4 boxes above as satisfactory. The wall plugs supplied with the installation kit are for use in solid walls. Hollow or studpartition walls will require alternative fixings. Please consult a hardware supplier for the correct type. It may also be necessary to consult your tiling supplier about the correct method for drilling your tiles. <<< COMPLETED INSTALLATION Right hand screen shown IMPORTANT The Series 5 Overbath screen is NOT reversible. Fitting of RIGHT HAND screen is shown.

1 Ensure that the top surface of the bath, on which the screen will be installed, is level in every direction. 2 The tiling, or other wall finishing, should be effectively sealed at the bath edges all round. 3 Tiling should extend at least to the corners of the bath and a minimum of 1.5 metres above its top surface. The minimum height required for installation is 1.5 metres from the top of the bath. IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT THESE CRITERIA ARE MET TO ENSURE SATISFACTORY INSTALLATION OF THE SCREEN. 1023 x 1

5 Fit towel rail


1 Mount each towel rail bracket 1034 using the plastic washers 1012 either side of the glass and the bracket cups 1013.Tighten the bracket screws 1011 to hold the rail brackets in place but do not overtighten. Use the cover caps 1014 to conceal the screw heads. 2 Slide the towel rail C through the brackets and tighten the grub screws in the under side of the brackets with the hexkey 1002.

DO NOT LIFT THE SCREEN BY THE TOWEL RAIL

6 Wall profile
1 Place the wall profile B against the wall, 25mm in from the edge of the bath. 2 Using the vertical element of the spirit level ensure the profile is perpendicular to the bath. 3 Mark the hole positions on the wall through the 2 holes in the profile. 4 Drill the wall to accept the wall plugs 1004. 5 Place the plugs in the holes. 6 Screw the profile to the wall with the long screws 1005 supplied in the screen fitting kit. Check vertical alignment and make any minor adjustment via the slotted holes in the profile. TIP Place paper in the bath to prevent damage to the surface while working on the installation.

7 Fit screen
1 Fit the screen A onto the wall profile. 2 Ensure that the bottom edge of the screen is parallel with the top of the bath.

8 Fix screen
1 Drill through the 2 holes in the open channel, on the outside of the screen frame post, into the wall profile with the drill bit 1001. 2 Fix the screen to the wall profile with 2 of the short screws 1008. 3 Working from the inside drill through the 2 holes on the inside of the screen frame post into the wall profile. 4 Fix the screen to the wall profile with 2 of the short screws 1008. 5 Fit the cover cap 1025 into the top of the screen wall profile and the screen hinge cover cap 1023. 6 Press the 2 trim stips 1037 into the white plastic mouldings in the open channels in the outside and inside of the screen.

ASSISTANCE MAY BE REQUIRED TO LEVEL THE SCREEN

TIP The trim strips 1037 can be carefully removed again, if required, with a thin, flat blade screwdriver.

9 Fit luna profile


Use a quality silicon sealant and applicator to seal the Luna profile 1036 to the bath top edge. 1 Swing the screen in over the bath. 2 Apply a continuous bead of silicon to the bottom of the luna profile 1036. 3 Press the luna profile 1036 into the locator at the screen hinge and onto the top edge of the bath. 4 Apply a small amount of silicon to the back of the luna end 1035 and slide it into the profile. 5 Adjust the luna profile 1036 until it is parallel with the bath edge and leave for 24 hours to fully set.

10 Fine adjustment
Fine adjustment to the screen can be made to assist in alignment of the bath edge seal with the luna profile 1036 if required. 1 Adjust the position of the screen on the bath edge by turning the small, brass screw in the screen bottom moulding in or out with a flat blade screwdriver. 2 Press in the adjuster screw covers 1015 inside and outside. TIP These can be carefully removed again, if required, with a thin, flat blade screwdriver.

NOTE Adjust the screws on the inside and outside of the screen bottom moulding.

11 Seal panel
Use a quality silicon sealant and applicator to seal the finished screen. 1 Seal the screen around the bottom of the screen hinge moulding on the OUTSIDE between it and the bath and approx. 50mm (2) up between the wall profile and the wall. 2 Seal top to bottom on the INSIDE between the wallprofile and the wall.
