IT IS A MONTH to find yourself a
cosy corner. This could be as simple as
settling down with a mug of hot
chocolate or spending the weekend
painting your favourite room a
warming colour. We have been
renovating our home for some time
now and still have a way to go, but
knew that making a snug for the family
should be a priority. The choice of pink
walls did raise an eyebrow or two but
Our new snug is everyone now agrees that it is a lovely place to be. And,
super-cosy and
pretty in pink! of course, it is a great place to stitch – surely one of the

To keep you busy this month, we have a stunning
winter landscape. Emma Congdon’s frosty owl
captures the spirit of the season so well, we have made
it our cover star. You can get started on page 20. If
warmer thoughts are what you need, we have some
heart-felt projects in this Valentine’s month. You will

the fabric outwards towards the
end. Repeat the design on the
other end of the fabric if you

reverse side of the design,
leaving two blank aida squares
showing at the front on either

Step 3

stitching. With the felt held on the
back, sew down the two long
edges of the stitching, one aida

bottom of the design is just above
the fold. Cut both short ends of the
