Instructions

Thank you for ordering a Lavi Electronic Queuing® System. Please use this guide to get the most out of your
system. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

01 Be sure the AC Adapters for the TV and Station Remotes are

securely plugged into an AC wall outlet or power strip.

02 All Station Remotes must be plugged in before the Lavi Electronic

Queuing System and TV are powered up.

03 Then, turn the TV “ON” by pressing the power button on the bottom
edge of the TV or by pressing the ON button on the TV remote.

04 Next, the Lavi Electronic Queuing System will turn “ON” when the
power adapter for the computer (located on the back of the TV) is
connected to an electrical receptacle.

05 Please wait up to 2 minutes while the Lavi Electronic Queuing

System boots up and discovers each Station Remote. Your
Lavi Electronic Queuing System is now ready to use.

06 Test the Lavi Electronic Queuing System by pressing the button on

each Station Remote. Watch the screen to confirm the appropriate
queuing graphic and audio message.

07 Adjust the volume by increasing the volume on the TV using its

remote control.

08 In between queuing messages, the TV will be idle, either displaying

media or a default image (such as a logo) if it has been programmed
to do so. Pushing the button on any of the Station Remotes interrupts
the playing media with the appropriate queuing message.

09 If different Station Remote buttons are pressed simultaneously,

the directional messages will queue-up and play one after
the other until the sequence is complete. The Lavi Electronic
Queuing System can remain powered up at all times.
There is no need to shut it down.

10 If station lights are programmed to your system, they will flash each
time a Station Remote button is pushed.

Guidelines for changing Lavi EQ™ Promotional Media Drive

Changing or updating promotional or informational media is simple and easy. By following the simple step-
by-step guidelines below, your Lavi Electronic Queuing System can be updated in just a few minutes.

Overview
Media can be changed by simply inserting a USB drive with new media on it into the
Lavi Electronic Queuing Computer which is normally located on the back of the TV.

The new media on the USB drive will override the existing media that was
preconfigured on your system and will start to play within seconds of inserting the
new USB drive.

The new media will continue to play as long as the USB drive is inserted into the
computer. If the USB drive is removed, the system will revert to playing the default
media that was originally programmed.

The USB drive with media can be placed in any of the available USB ports on the
Lavi Electronic Queuing System Computer. If there is currently a USB drive in the two USB ports marked by the
yellow circle (see page 4 image 3), simply remove it and replace it. You can repurpose the same USB drive and
update the graphics within it, as described in the steps below.

DO NOT REMOVE ANY OTHER DEVICE ALREADY PLUGGED INTO THE COMPUTER.

NOTE: When inserting a USB drive with media, do not restart the computer. It must be ON at all times.

NOTE: If restart is needed for troubleshooting, the USB Media Drive must be removed before restart.

NOTE: Please make sure the USB Media Drive is formatted before you update or add new images.

01
CREATING new media to play on the Lavi Electronic Queuing System

The Lavi Electronic Queuing System can play a still image slide show between queuing messages.

Save each image as a JPEG with the following specifications: no larger resolution than 96 dpi @
1920 x 1080 pixels, regardless of TV size ordered.

02
NAMING new media to play on the Lavi Electronic Queuing System

The Lavi Electronic Queuing System requires specific names for media files in order to
recognize and play the files.

STILL IMAGES (JPEG):

InfoDsp001.jpg, InfoDsp002.jpg, InfoDsp003.jpg, etc. (as many as needed)

HINT: Each slide has a default timer of 5 seconds per image. If there are slides that require
additional time, simply duplicate the same image in a sequence. NEXT

COPYING new media to a USB Media Drive

Before copying the media files, please format the USB Media Flash Drive.

Once created and named properly, new media files are ready to be added
to your Lavi Electronic Queuing System.

• Copy your new files to a blank USB drive.

• Files need to be loose and not contained within any folders.

NOTE: The USB Media Drive should not be larger than 16GB.

04 Adding a new USB Media Drive

The installation of this flash drive can be done in 5 seconds, and there is no previous
experience needed. Simply follow the instructions below.

For technical assistance, please call a Q Specialist at 877-608-7463.

NOTE: When inserting a USB Media Drive, do not restart the Lavi Electronic Queuing
System. It must be ON at all times.

a. Locate the Lavi Electronic Queuing Computer (shown in image 1). The Computer
is most likely installed on the back of the TV.

b. Do not turn off any part of the TV or the Lavi Electronic Queuing Computer.

c. Insert the USB Media Flash Drive (shown in image 2). It can be placed in any of the
two available USB ports on the Lavi Electronic Queuing Computer (shown in image 3).

d. If there is currently a flash drive in any of the two available slots, remove it and replace
it with the new USB Flash Drive. Do not remove any other device already plugged
into the Lavi Electronic Queuing Computer.

NOTE: When rebooting the computer, the USB Media Flash Drive must be unplugged
and plugged back in once the system is fully booted. The small micro SanDisk USB is the
Configuration Drive and must remain plugged in at all times.

Troubleshooting Guide

Lavi Electronic Queuing Troubleshooting

BEFORE GETTING STARTED

Determine that your Electronic Queuing System is

manufactured by Lavi Industries.

This can be most easily determined by looking at the Activation

Buttons. All Lavi Electronic Queuing Systems come with Station
Remotes that have the Lavi Electronic Queuing logo on displayed on the top.

If your remote controls display different branding information, it is not a Lavi Electronic
Queuing System and you should contact the appropriate manufacturer.

System is down due to power outage

If the Lavi Electronic Queuing System does not automatically restart,

make sure that electrical outlets have power.

Blank TV

01 Verify that both the TV and the Lavi Electronic Queuing Computer
are connected to power and turned on.

02 Verify that the HDMI video cable from the Lavi Electronic Queuing
Computer is firmly connected to the TV.

Troubleshooting Guide

Station Remote is not responding

01 Verify that the Station Remote is plugged into the AC adapter.

02 Verify that the AC adapter is plugged into power socket or power strip and that the
power strip is plugged in and that the AC cord has not been pulled loose.

03 Verify that when pressed, the Station Remote has a solid green and
red light blinking fast.

04 If the Qdrive is not plugged in, plug the Qdrive into a USB port on the Lavi Electronic
Queuing Computer and restart by unplugging and plugging back into power.

05 Verify that there are only two USB devices plugged into the Computer (the Qdrive
and SanDisk USB drive). Any third-party USB drive, such as a media drive, should be
removed before restarting the Lavi Electronic Queuing Computer.

06 Allow the Lavi Electronic Queuing Computer to boot and perform network discovery.
Once the main media is visible on the TV, then you can test the system by pressing a
button on the Station Remote.
