Pre requisites:

This course requires the knowledge of Engineering Mathematics at Diploma first year level and
Applied Engineering Mathematics at Diploma 3rd Semester level.

Definition of a Differential Equation - Order and Degree of a Differential Equations-Formation of Differential
Equations - Solutions of Ordinary Differential Equations of first order and first degree: Variable Separable
Method, Homogeneous Differential Equations, Exact Differential Equations, Linear Differential Equations
and Bernoulli’s Equation-Problems leading to engineering applications by using above methods.

Higher order Homogeneous Linear Differential Equations with constant coefficients:

Homogenous Linear Differential Equations with constant coefficients of second and higher order-
- Problems leading to engineering applications.

Higher order Non-Homogeneous Linear Differential Equations with constant coefficients:
Complimentary Function (C.F), Particular Integral (P.I) and General Solution (G.S) of Non-
Homogeneous Linear Differential Equations with constant coefficients- Second and Higher order Non-
Homogenous Linear Differential Equations with constant coefficients of the form f(D)y = X, where f(D) is a
