LESSON 2.3: Designing an Ideal Classroom Structure that can Prom

ote Active Learning for a Given Developmental Stage.

1. Write a narrative of your idea of a classroom for a grade level of your choi
ce. Given the characteristics of your learners, describe what the classroo
m should have in the classroom.

My Idea of a Classroom for Grade 11

For a Grade 11 classroom, I envision a practical and adaptable space that

meets the needs of older students who are preparing for more advanced
studies. The room would have a mix of individual desks and collaborative work
tables to support both independent work and group projects.

There would be a large bulletin board for important announcements, student

work, and upcoming deadlines. A white board or projector would be used for
interactive lessons and presentations, making it easier for students to engage
with the material.

There would be bookshelves stocked with textbooks, reference materials, and

additional reading resources for students to use during independent study
time. A filing system or organizers would keep supplies like pens, paper, and
notebooks neatly stored.

The classroom would also have a designated area for student work, where
students can post their projects and achievements. A calendar on the wall
would help everyone keep track of important dates and assignments. The
room would be well-lit and inviting, creating a comfortable environment where
students feel encouraged to learn and participate.
2. Sketch the interior of your dream classroom that will show the pieces of f
urniture, various displays, and teaching aids. Consider a floor plan that wil
l allow collaborative work and other group activities.
