Sexism
Sexism, prejudice or discrimination
based on sex or gender, especially
against women and girls.Sexism can be
a belief that one sex is superior to or
more valuable than another sex. It
imposes limits on what men and boys
can and should do and what women and
girls can and should do.
Example: someone who was born female
applying to work at a fire department
but having their application denied
because they were not born male
Inequality
Facts
•Every year, a thousand women are murdered, 2.6
every day on average: from 2019 to 2021, 2,877
women were murdered
•Women participate on equal terms with men. than among men,
78.7% and 75.7%,
respectively.

•The urban female-male ratio is 108.9 women per 100 men,

higher than the national ratio of 104.7. On the other hand,
in rural areas, the ratio is 91.7 women for every 100 men.

•Gender Pay Gap: Women often earn less than men for the same
work or similar roles due to systemic biases and discrimination
in hiring, promotions, and salary negotiations.
Gender inequality through history
Gender inequality has evolved
over time, with progress
made through movements like
suffrage and legal reforms.
Challenges persist, including
pay gaps and
underrepresentation in
leadership. In the 21st
century, efforts continue to
address issues like gender-
based violence and work-life
balance.
pink tax
The additional cost of
products when they are
intended for women is called
pink tax or pink rate, especially
when they are functionally
identical to their equivalents
intended for men (and,
therefore, the difference
cannot be attributed to a
higher production cost).

what can we do?
Personally, I think it would be difficult
to remove the pink tax from the
market, since charging more for these
pink products benefits many people,
objects for women are worth 10% more
than objects for men, and that is
always a somewhat high amount
Cultural
The impact of culture on the perception
of men as superior to women can be
significant. It can promote gender equality
inequality, limit opportunities for women,
and perpetuate harmful stereotypes
that affect society as a whole. It is
important to promote a culture of
equality and respect to overcome these
perceptions.
scientifically gender inequality

Gender inequality persists due to societal constructions

rather than innate differences. Scientific research shows
that biases and stereotypes shape opportunities and
treatment from an early age, leading to disparities in
areas like pay and leadership roles. Addressing this issue
requires challenging norms, implementing policies for
diversity and inclusion, and providing equal opportunities
regardless of gender.
