EXERCISE 4

FILLET COMMAND

helps convert sharp edges to round edges


Chamfer command
 Click on the Chamfer icon
 Type D and Press Enter
 Specify the first chamfer
distance and Press Enter
 Specify the second chamfer
distance and Press Enter
 Select the first line
 Select the second line
FILLET IN AUTOCAD
 Click on the fillet command icon
 Type R and Press Enter
 Specify the fillet Radius and
Press Enter
 Select the first line
 Select the second line
all FILLET are R=5
CIRCLE command
 an important and a frequently used
command, you can judge by its
location and its size.
 DRAWING CIRCLES IN
AUTOCAD
 Drawing an ordinary circle
 Click on the CIRCLE icon
 Specify the center of the circle with a
click in the drawing area
 Specify the radius of the circle with
another click
 Drawing the given circle
 Activate the CIRCLE command
 Specify the center of the circle
 Type 30 and hit ENTER
CENTER DIAMETER
 enter the value of
the Diameter of the
circle instead of entering
the value of radius.
2 POINTS
 This option help you draw
a circle using two
endpoints, where the 2
points will form the
diameter of the circle.
 To use this
 Activate
the CIRCLE command
 Select the first point
 Select the second point
3 POINTS
 This works absolutely like
the preceding one at the
difference that instead of 2
points you have to
indicate 3 points.
TAN TAN RADIUS
 This one uses 2 tangents
and a radius to draw the
circle.
TAN TAN TAN
 The tan tan tan uses 3
tangents to draw the
circle.
EXERCISE 5
POLYGON
 It is not a command that is being used often but it can
come to handy at times,
 There is a technique that require you to make use of this
command to draw a star in AutoCAD.
 To create a polygon, you need to specify the number of
sides of you polygon when you are creating it, the center
of the polygon and whether the polygon will be inscribed
or circumscribed to a circle which you will specify the
radius.
POLYGON - allows create polygons in
AutoCAD
 Write POLYGON and
Press Enter
 Enter the number of
sides and Press Enter
 Specify the center of the
polygon
 Enter an option: I (for
inscribed) and C (for
Circumscribed). It is set
to <I> by default. Simply
pressing Enter in this step
will activate I
 Specify the Radius of the
circle
Creating a Star
All fillet are R=10 units
A TRICK YOU CAN USE
 It is possible to use the FILLET command on two parallel
lines.
