In the two-day discussion of the member states, many of the countries made attempts to reach on a consensus.
The member states of The Russian Federation, The People’s Republic of China, The Islamic of Iran, The Republic
of Nigeria, The Republic of Oman, The Republic of Angola, The Republic of Chad, Federal Republic of Somalia,
The Republic of Mauritius, The Republic of Latvia, The Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, The Kingdom of
Belgium, Saint Lucia, People’s Democratic Republic of Yemen, The Republic of Zimbabwe hither to make an
attempt to bring forward its solutions. The solutions discussed were manifold in nature which are:
Bearing in mind the discussion that took place in the current session of the United Nations General Assembly
with special concern to investigating reports of Chemical Weapons Usage in:
a.) Recommends that the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) receive increased
resources and support to enhance its investigative capabilities. This includes providing advanced technological
tools, additional funding, and ensuring international cooperation for thorough and unbiased investigations.
b.) Encourages OPCW to maintain transparency in its investigation processes by sharing findings with the
international community and working closely with member states to ensure credibility and objectivity.
2. Ensuring Safe Access and Protection for Investigators:
a.) Advocates for the establishment of secure zones within conflict areas to facilitate safe and unrestricted access
for OPCW investigators. This should include agreements with all parties involved to ensure the safety of
investigative teams.
b.) Implement protective measures for OPCW personnel and other international investigators operating in
dangerous regions to safeguard their safety and effectiveness.
a.) Proposes the creation of an international task force comprising experts from member states to support OPCW
investigations. This task force would provide technical expertise, analytical support, and logistical assistance to
enhance the investigation process.
b.) Encourages collaboration with local authorities and non-governmental organizations to gather evidence and
contextualize incidents of chemical weapons use, ensuring that local knowledge and insights are incorporated.
4. Focusing on investigating specific allegations of chemical weapons use by gathering evidence, interviewing
witnesses, and analyzing samples from affected areas. Ensure rigorous verification procedures to confirm the
validity of claims.
a.) Ensures that victims of chemical weapons attacks receive necessary medical care, psychological support, and
compensation. Facilitate access to rehabilitation services and aid for affected communities.
b.) Emphasizes the importance of providing access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities for affected
populations to prevent further health crises.
a.) Reaffirms the commitment of all member states to the CWC and underscore the importance of adherence to
international norms prohibiting the use of chemical weapons.
b.) Supports diplomatic efforts to address the underlying conflicts contributing to the use of chemical weapons,
promoting dialogue and negotiations between conflicting parties to resolve root causes of violence.
8. Promoting education and awareness about the dangers of chemical weapons can play a crucial role in preventing
future use
