The Department of Physics, Edwardes College Peshawar, intends to offer four years of BS Physics Research
Degree Program, affiliated with the University of Peshawar. The fundamental objective of this program is to
equip our young generation with the skills of research and analysis in the field of Physics.
ECSMRA (Edwardes College Science Models Research Activities Forum) will conduct scientific models
exhibitions at the department as well as at the college level, to develop the ability to work on scientific
projects . The department conducts seminars in various disciplines of Physics.

DEPARTMENT OF STATISTICS
Statistics Department provides teaching at intermediate and degree levels to both science and arts
students. Statistics is a fundamental science, which exerts a vital and dominant role in the development of
others scientific discipline. Statistical Science skills are important in all applied sciences. At Edwardes
Statistics is being taught in BS Computer Science, BS Economics and BBA. Without statistical methods no
scientific as well as social research can be effectively carried out. The students are equipped to collect and
analyze data as a part of syllabi of both University of Peshawar and the Board of Intermediate and
Secondary Education (BISEP).

The history of the English Department is as old as the college itself. English Department is one of the most
vibrant departments of Edwardes College. Besides teaching English language, grammar and literature at

ELECTRONICS
Edwardes College was the first college in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to start a Bachelor of Computer Science
(BCS) degree in 1998. Furthermore, it was the first department in the college to admit women students.
Computer Science is offered at intermediate level (two years), BS(CS) (a four years University of Peshawar
degree course following intermediate). Three well-equipped computer laboratories offer round the clock
internet access to staff and students. There are four air-conditioned lecture rooms.
Students of BS (CS) achieve top positions in the University of Peshawar Term Examinations. Miss Huzaima
Altaf and Mr. Ali Habib received CMS award (Rs. 100,000) from Governor KPK for getting top (1st) position in
BS (CS) in University of Peshawar.

The Department aims to provide awareness to students regarding basic Islamic beliefs and understandings

HOARE CENTRE OF MODERN LANGUAGES (HCML)


Edwardes College Hoare Center of Modern Language (HCML) is established to impart basic language skills
to its students to learn languages in an environment of modern technical facilities. Language Center is
equipped with the latest computers, Audio-Visual aids, high-speed powered Wi-Fi, interactive consoles
and video conferencing. At present English, Chinese, German and Pashto languages are being offered.
These languages have become popular as most multi-national companies prefer to have those employees
who have knowledge of a language spoken locally where the company operates. Therefore, learning a
foreign language is helpful for further studies and career prospects. The basic purpose of this center is to
