Course Description:
This course provides an in-depth understanding of the principles, strategies, and techniques used
in inventory and warehouse management. Students will explore how inventory levels, storage,
and distribution operations impact supply chain efficiency and customer satisfaction. The course
also addresses the role of technology in inventory and warehouse management and introduces
best practices in warehouse design, inventory control, and safety standards.

Types and Functions of Inventory: Different types of inventory: raw materials, work-in-
progress, finished goods, MRO (maintenance, repair, operations), Functions of inventory:
decoupling, safety stock, cycle stock, Inventory classification: ABC, VED, and FSN analysis
Inventory Control Techniques: Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Just-in-Time (JIT) inventory
management, Inventory replenishment models: continuous review and periodic review, Safety
stock calculation and reorder point systems
Warehouse Operations: Key warehouse functions: receiving, storage, picking, and shipping,
