COURSE DESCRIPTION This course engages the pre-service English teachers in the selection, development, production, and evaluation of variety of

language teaching and learning resources based on the identified K to 12 learning competencies. Through these activities, they

are able to demonstrate content knowledge on the principles and procedures of language materials development. Students show

competence in employing innovative strategies on the design and development of contextualized and localized instructional

materials that provide opportunities for meaningful, purposeful language use thereby facilitate language learning and teaching.

▪ PORTFOLIO SUBMISSION
✓ A portfolio must be submitted containing all the language learning
materials developed.
✓ The portfolio should include an introduction that outlines the pre-service
teacher’s approach to material development, the principles they followed,
and the overall theme or focus of their work.
✓ A reflective section in the portfolio should be included where they
discuss at least three existing language learning materials they have
explored during the course. This section should analyze the strengths and
weaknesses of these materials, as well as their potential adaptations for
different learning contexts.

ATTENDANCE POLICY
▪ Excused absences are religious holidays, pre-approved professional activities,
injury or illness of student or immediate family member. Verification of these
events will be needed. Notification of anticipated absences must occur as early as
possible.
