Chapter 1 Introduction
1.1 Attention
This Operation manual contains necessary and sufficient information to operate the dental unit,

like optimal usage, safe and reliable operation, regular and correct servicing requirements.

Read and understand all instructions in this manual before attempting to use the product.

Keep this manual with the unit all times. Periodically review the procedures for operation and

safety precautions.

1.2 Usage Indications


The chair-mounted dental unit is intended to properly position a patient to perform dental procedures. A

dental operative unit is attached to supply power to and serve as a base for other dental devices, such as

a dental handpiece, a dental operating light, an air or water syringe unit, and oral cavity evacuator, a

suction unit, and other dental devices and accessories.

This dental unit can be used for dental clinic, laboratory, hospital and so on, by doctors and

professionals for diagnosing, operating, examining.

1.3 Contraindication
There is no any contraindication of this equipment.

Chapter 2 Safety
2.1 Sign Explanation

2.2 General Safety Recommendations


The user is responsible for proper operation and maintenance of the unit in accordance with

the instructions listed in this manual.

2.2.1 Dental Chair

 The cushion do not less than 520mm and higher than 680mm;

 Dental chair backrest angle swing should higher than 50 °;

 Dental chair should keep stable lifting without noise and jamming phenomenon when no

load;

 The foot switch could control the dental chair position;

 The decoration materials and filler materials should follow the requirements of 5.1.5

YY/T0058-2004;

 The headrest should follow the requirements of 5.2.1.1 YY/T0058-2004;

 The armrest should follow the requirements of 5.2.2 YY/T0058-2004;

 Carrying capacity should follow the requirements of 5.2.3 YY/T0058-2004;

 The pressure of explosion should follow the requirements of 5.2.4 YY/T0058-2004;

 The additional load under the emergency should follow the requirements of 5.2.7

YY/T0058-2004;
 The integrated design should follow the requirements of 5.1.1~5.1.4. YY/T0058-2004.

2.2.2 Delivery Tray

 Keep stable anytime, the at each position, the gradient should not more than 3°;

 Lift freely when more than 1000mm and keep stay any position;

 The maximum to bear on delivery tray is 2kg.

2.2.3 Water supply for gargle device should be stable without splashing;

2.3.4 Saliva Ejector

 The saliva ejector have strong gear and weak gear;

 Low saliva ejector: when the water pressure is 200kPa, the vacuum should higher than

27kPa, the pumping rate should higher than 400ml/min;

 High saliva ejector: when the water pressure is 400kPa, the vacuum should higher than

10kPa, the pumping rate should higher than 1000ml/min.

2.3.5 Spittoon

 Made with health, firm and corrosion resisting material, washable and disinfection;

 The filter inside the spittoon should retain the residue which the diameter is more than

2mm;

 When the pressure is 200kPa, the dirty on the cuspidor should be washed clean.

2.3.6 3-way Syringe

 Well sealing performance, open and close flexibly, injection evenly, adjustable direction;

 When respectively press button, should be clear the gas or water; spray fog flow when

press both buttons at same time.

2.2.7 Operation Light

 Operation light should follow the requirements of 4.1 YY1120-1999;

 Operation light should follow the requirements of 4.2 YY1120-1999;

 Operation light should follow the requirements of 4.3 YY1120-1999;

 Operation light should follow the requirements of 4.4 YY1120-1999;

 Operation light should follow the requirements of 4.5 YY1120-1999;

 Operation light should follow the requirements of 4.6 YY1120-1999;

 Operation light should follow the requirements of 4.7 YY1120-1999;

2.2.8 The x-ray viewer is milky white, brightness should be higher than 4000Lx;

2.2.9 Foot Switch

 Turn on the foot switch when the air source condition is 4.1f, the air pressure should

stable and follow the requirements of the working pressure for any handpiece.

2.2.10 Doctor Stool

 Doctor stool should move freely when the load is more than 1350N;

 Doctor stool could support more than 180N;

 The range of height adjustment should more than 130mm;

 The doctor stool should drop less than 10mm after loading 135kg(after initial settlement);

 The cover materials and filler materials of doctor stool should follow the requirements of

4.2.1.5.

2.2.11 Air supply switch for water bottle should be with well performance;

2.2.12 The air and water system should be with well performance, and all values

should be operated easily;

2.2.13 The dental unit should be with well sealing, no leakage;

2.2.14 The working noise should be less than 70dB (except the air compressor);~

2.2.15 The pressure system should be safe and reliable, without leakage and

explosion when in the normal condition;

2.2.16 The parts which may generate pressure in the fire accident, should be

equipped with pressure release devises;

2.2.17 Additional load in the emergency measure

 The dental unit should be afforded additional 40kg in 1min, which should be interval 1sec;

keep the dental unit stay when in the testing, no damage obviously after testing.

2.2.18 The speed of high speed handpiece should be more than 260×
×103r/min with

medical devise registration certificate;

2.2.19 The speed of motor handpiece should be more than 22×


×103r/min, the torque

should be more than2.65N·


·m, with medical devise registration certificate;

2.2.20 The curing light should be with medical devise registration certificate;

2.2.21 The flow on the handpiece should be adjusted with 28L/min 40L/min;

2.2.22 The dental unit should follow the requirements of 5.1 YY/T1043-2004;

2.2.23 The dental unit should follow the requirements of 5.3.1 YY/T1043-2004;

2.2.24 The dental unit should follow the requirements of 5.3.6 YY/T1043-2004;

2.2.25 Appearance and Structure

 The appearance should be smooth and even without obvious concave-convex, bump,

scratch and burr;

 The switches and buttons should flexible and stable without loose;

 Paint parts should follow the requirements of Part 2 of Appearance YY/T91055-1999;

 Electroplating parts should follow the requirements of Class 2 of YY0076-92 IV;

 The cushion parts should be smooth, uniform color without crack.

2.2.26 The dental unit should follow the safety requirements on Appendix A;

2.2.27 Environmental Tests

 The dental unit should follow the environment requirements of Group II climate

environment and Group II mechanical environment, GB/T14710-93;

 The transportation test should follow the requirements of Chapter 3, GB/T147710-93;

 The power supply voltage adaptability test should follow the requirements of Chapter 4,

GB/T147710-93.

2.2.28 All cable and pipeline should be protected from friction and stretch;

2.2.29 The control device should be equipped separately;

2.2.30 Any exposed parts should be cleaned and disinfected easily without any

damage on the surface and symbol.

4.4 Installation Environment


The machine should be set in a place as followed:

The temperature of environment: 5-40 .


The humidity of environment: ≤85%.
Atmosphere pressure: 860Hpa 1060Hpa.
An earth connection is essential.

4.5 Before Setting


 Please ensure the place which has a separate and stable power source supply.
 Please ensure the place which has the sewage draining tube to connect.
 Please ensure the place which has the air source supply.
 Please ensure the palace which has the water source supply.

4.6 Power Connection


 The dental unit should be connected with a stable and separate power source.
 Power socket is at the back of the dental unit.
 Please confirm the connection power is complied with specification of nameplate at the
back of dental unit.

Chapter 5 Installation
After completed preparation we can do the installation as followed:

5.1 Pipeline Connection


Connected the entire pipeline (air input tube, water input tube, drain tube, electronic wire tube)
into floor console area as Pic 4-1.

The power wire should be 2mm 3 wires with protecting bushing soft line, leave power wires
more than 400mm.

5.2 Set Chair and Junction Box


We suggest you to set the chair with a stationary type. Use 6mm anchoring to fix the dental
chair as Pic 4-1. The ground which set the dental chair must firm and clean, the horizontal
should be less than 3°
PLEASE ENSURE THE GROUND IS HORIZONTAL, OTHERWISE IT WILL
CAUTION
EFFECT OPERATION AND PERFORMANCE, EVEN BRING ACCIDENT.

Before setting the junction box, please use a hose to exhaust dirty water or air inside the tube,

for cleaning the impurity and dirt.


PLEASE MOVE JUNCTION BOX AT BOTTOM.
WHEN YOU MOVE THE CHAIR, PLEASE HOLD THE BALANCE ARM TO
CAUTION
AVOID ANY HURT.
DO NOT LEFT THE BALANCE WHEN YOU MOVE THE DENTAL CHAIR.

Check the accessories box, use the outside connection port, G /4 X G /2 connection port,

straight connection port and PU tube to connect the water(blue) and air(black) pipeline
connection. Check picture as followed:

According to Appendix 1 to connect all the electronic and protective connection line. Please

5.4 Light Arm and Operation Light Assembly

5.5 Operation Light Assembly

a) Use the allen key which inside the light box to screw the limited operation light loose.

b) Connect operation light electronic connection port with light arm port. There are 3 wire with

different color inside the light and light arm port. Connect them with corresponding color

wire.

5.6 Headrest Assembly

a) Remove the package;


b) Press the mental handle and insert the handrest into the backrest. And release the handle

c) Press the metal button at the back of the headrest to adjust the angle of the headrest.

a. Set the pipeline from control unit through the decorative ring and decorative cover;

b. Set the delivery tray axletree on the turn arm hole to become a completed balance arm

with power wire from inside;

c. Connect the pipeline of balance arm to the pipeline which below the delivery tray;

d. Open the bottom cover of delivery tray first, then connect the control line to the delivery

tray which inside the delivery tray.

5.9 Handpiece and 3-Way Syringe Assembly

c) The handpiece should be fixed with the bur before working.
d) The 3-way syringe should be set the spray tube before working.

6.2 Gargling Water Function

The gargling water will be supplying when you pressing the “Gargle water button” (stop

automatically when reaching the pre-set volume).

While pushing the “Heater” button, the indicator flashes and the water heat function is

activated. Stop heating automatically when reaching the pre-set temperature and the indicator

is on. When temperature lowers to certain degrees, begin to heat automatically and the

indicator flashes again. While pushing the heater button again, the water heat function is

stopped and the indicator turns off.

Gargling Water Time Setting

The gargling water supply time could be set between 3 to 60secs. The process as followed:

1) Keep pressing “Gargle water” button for 3secs and into the water supply time setting

program. Release the button when the water is getting the volume as you need. The water

volume has been saved. Then every time you press this button, the water will supply to the

pre-set volume and stop automatically.

2) You can also to set the water volume by time. The supply water time from 3 to 60secs. If

the supply water time is over the 60secs, it will be stop automatically.

3) It can be stopped when you press this button more time during water supplying.

6.3 Cuspidor Clean Water Function

You can use the “Cuspidor clean” button to control the water to clean the Cuspidor. Press one

time to open, and another time to close. The volume of the water for cleaning could be

adjusted by throttle valve as followed picture.

The time of cleaning the Cuspidor have 4 levels to be adjusted (1, 5, 30mins and Keep open),

the process of setting as followed:

Keep pressing “SET” button, every time to press ”Cuspidor clean” button will add the cleaning

time a level, and it will be cycling. The lamp near “SET” button will flash corresponding time

with the levels. Release ”SET” button to quit and save the setting.

For example, if the default level is level 2 (5mins), keep pressing “SET” button, you can

check followed form:

6.4 Delivery Tray Receptacle Testing

Handpiece Testing
 Take down the handpiece from the delivery tray receptacle.
 Then to press the foot switch(The function and operation of foot switch please refer 6.5)
and check if the handpiece could be driven by air.
 Shift the cooling control button and press the panel to check if the handpiece working
company with the air cooling and mist water cooling.
 Press dust clear button on the foot switch to check the dust air on the handpiece.

 Then to press water button (left button)to check if the syringe could supply the water.
 To press air button (right button) to check if the syringe could supply the air.
 To press both to check if the syringe could supply mist water.

6.7 X-ray viewer


A separate control button on the upside of X-ray viewer to control open or close. Close the
button if do not use long time.

6.9 Chair position resetting program

Applied when wrong operation lead to chair position jammed


1) Keep pressing “SET” for 8 seconds, until indication light on.

2) Press the button to the highest position as the chair can reach;

3) Press the button to lower the chair position a little bit;

4) Press the button to set backrest to move ahead as it can reach;

5) Press the button to set backrest to back a little bit;

The Highest position will be saved after pressing “SET”.

6) Press the button to the lowest position as the chair can reach;g

7) Press the button to raise the chair position a little bit;

8) Press the button to the maximum angle;

9) Press the button to move ahead a little bit;

The lowest position will be saved after pressing “SET”.

6.10 Program position of I II III

The button “I, II, III” on the panel is the preset position button. Customer could program 3

different positions. To set normal position as followed process (E.g. Setting preset No.I

position):

1) Press and button to adjust height to a suitable position;

2) Press and button to adjust angle to a suitable position;

3) Pressing “SET” button (do not release), then press “I” button about 1 to 2 seconds, the

“SET” lamp near set button will be blinking once to show saving the position. Release

both buttons when the “SET” lamp blinking.


DO NOT PRESS “SET” BUTTON MORE THAN 7SECS, OTHERWISE IT
CAUTION
ENTERS EXTREME POSITION PROGRAM.
4) You can test by set another position and press “1” button if the chair could return the No.I

preset position you set.

The method for setting No.II and No.III position is as same as No.I.

Please refer to following chart:

6.11 Dental Chair Urgency Stop

If you want to stop immediately when the dental chair in the movement, like restoration or

resetting position program, you could press any button on the control panel except “Cuspidor

Clean”, “Gargle Water”, “Heater” buttons to stop.

6.12 Water Supply System

The dental unit have two water supply system, one is bottle water supply system, the other is

outside water supply system.

6.12.1 Bottle Water Supply System

The bottle water supply system is consist with water bottle, air switch and water and air

pipeline system; the water in the bottle should be distilled water or pure water for drink.

Please check as Pic 6-5:

1. Water Source Switch


2. Water Bottle
3. Change-over Switch

 Water Source Switch: to choose the source of bottle water or pipe water;

 Bottle Air Switch: To control air which into the bottle and press water supply ON or OFF;

 If you want to use bottle water supply system, please ensure that the switch is set on;

 If you need add water into bottle, please ensure the bottle air switch is set on OFF before

you screw off the bottle from the control unit.

6.12.2 Outside Water Supply System

The outside water supply system should be connected with the junction box, then turn on the

change-over switch, change the bottle water supply system to the outside water supply

system.

7.1 Clean Filter


7.1.1 Clean Water Filter

Water filter is placed at the end of water inlet in the floor console to filter away the impurities for

normal use. But dirt will inevitably block the filter core and hamper the water flow after longtime

using. So it is necessary to clean or replace the water filter if any one of the followed occurs:

1) More than half month used;

2) The outlet water becomes turbid;

To clean or replace the filter core as followed:

1) Cut off the main power;

2) Open the floor console cover, unscrew the water filter cap anti-clockwise by using a screw
driver;
3) Remove the core to clean or replace it, also clean the filter cap;
4) Fix the filter repeat the same actions in reverse;

7.1.2 Clean Air Filter


The air filter is inside the control unit, the yellow one as below picture showed.
When the suction syringe working, it may suck inside much dust or impurity and left on the air
filter. It should be cleaned each month. The process as followed:

1) Cut the power of the dental unit;


2) Open the control unit and find the filter;
3) Discharge the filter from the control unit;
4) Open the filter and clean the cap and cover;
5) Assembly it filter and set it back on the console.

7.2 Clean Valve

7.2.1 Relief-pressure valve


Water filter is placed a air release port in the junction unit, it is necessary to release pressure

as the condition as below:

More than a week used;

Water in the filter cup more than 3/4;

Water in the filter cup is not pure.

To release pressure as followed:

Cut off the main power;


Open the junction unit cover, pull the spinner of the relief pressure valve about 10mm;
keep0.5MPa in the valve of manometer, then tight the value.

To release water as below:

Open the cover of junction unit, Upward force the bottom of valve core, pull the water out,
loose once the water is over;
B) using the absorbent material to sop on the port , such as cloth, paper towels and sponges.

7.2.2 Bottle Filter


Bottle filter is placed in the junction unit, for pulling out the pressure and water;

Cut off the main power;


Open the cover of junction unit, Upward about 10mm of the valve handle;
Keep 0.2MPa in the valve of manometer, then tight the handle.

7.3 Clean Suction Syringe Tubes

When you finished the work a day, please put the suction syringe into water to suck the water

and clean dust or impurity inside tubes.

7.4 Clean and Disinfection

 Cleaning the surface of machine everyday;

 Handpiece need to be cleaned, disinfected and lubricated after every time after used;

 The bur of 3-way syringe need to be disinfected by sterilizer with 121 , 20mins,1.1bar;

 The spittoon need to be cleaned and disinfected by alcohol each week;

 Clean or replace the water filter core every half month;

 Clean and sterilize the suction syringe each week.

7.5 Other Points

 Set the rest position if not use the machine;

 Lubricating joints of the machine termly;

 Check the compressor pressure termly and drain water in the tank betimes;

 Please ensure the power is cut off before you replace any part of machine.

Chapter 9 Essential Information

9.1 Basic Information

 Please ensure that no other objects in the working area and can not be touched the chair

during movement;

 Do the maintenance as Chapter 7;

 Please ensure that the headrest is locked well after adjust;

 Please ensure the power is completely cut before do any maintenance;

 Please ensure that the dirty stuff is ejected to the cloaca and complied with the standard

of environment;

 The dental unit only can be used by dentist, nurse or other concerning professional

person;

 The yearly maintenance and service should be executed by authorized personal;

 The working life of this unit is 5 years.

9.2 Safety Information

 Please confirm that the power plug is completely connected;

 Do not touch any wire or electronic parts on the unit with wet hand;

Chapter 10 Transportation and Storage

Please do the process as followed if you need to transport or storage the unit:

 Set the dental unit to RESET position;

 Shut off the power, unplug the cord;

 Discharge all the extra device, such as air compressor, scaler.....etc

 Drain the water from the tubes;

 Discharge the operation light arm, light and pack separately;

 Use packing plastic film to pack the unit well and tightly;

 The dental unit should be fixed well and with protected stuff during the transportation.
