Role of Technology in Environment

Protection

Over the past few decades, technologies have made a few great contributions to
the environmental protection. The 3 main contributions are renewable energy,
deforestation, and green technology that help the word grow more stable and
strong.

Innovations in renewable sources of energy like solar, wind and hydroelectric


power has reduced the demand of fossil fuel and created greenhouse gas
changes by generating less carbon dioxide emissions. These innovations have
not only made renewable energy affordable but have also increased its
adoption. And this sector is expected to continue to grow at a staggering rate.

Computer technologies have digitized office environment enabling paperless


office into reality and thus reducing the number of trees used to produce paper.
They have further enabled the idea of reducing deforestation by using drones
and robots that can make new-tree planting much more efficient and easier in
areas deeply impacted by deforestation. This AI also helps tracking wildfires
and water loss issues.

A new concept has emerged recently: green technologies and they have
become increasingly important in our lives. These green technologies aim to
provide sustainable solutions to specific and general problems. It basically is a
system that uses innovative methods to create environmental friendly
products.

Technology has played an amazing role in protecting the environment but we


should keep the usage of it balanced. We should try to reduce the negative
impacts like the excess usage of technology that can generate a large amount
of electronic waste and promote protection of the environment through green
technology, reforestation, reducing fossil fuel usage etc. This will not only
create a better life for us but also the environment, ecosystems and the flora
and fauna in it.
