REFLECTIONS
I s I engage in the “Catch-Up Fridays”
reading program, I’ve observed a significant
need for tailored support, particularly among
Grade 5 learners. Despite their differences, a
notable portion, especially some male students
are grappling with reading difficulties.

This observation underscores the

importance of our dedicated efforts to address
literacy challenges. The initiative has shed light
on the reality that some learners may require
additional interventions to enhance their
reading skills. It prompts us to reevaluate our
approach and consider strategy to cater
learning needs.
Moving forward, I propose a more targeted approach incorporating individualized support and
perhaps exploring supplementary resources. This reflection serves as a catalyst for ongoing
discussion on refining out reading program, ensuing that no leaner is left behind. Through
collaborative efforts, I believed we can make a meaningful impact on the literacy journey of every
student under our name.

I've noticed that my students improve their

As a mentor, I am excited because I
know that every one of my students will be
literately skilled and confident.
Instead of treating the program as another
workload of having the need to rearrange the
lesson plans, come up with more engaging
activities, and set learning goals for the week, I
now find the program as a better alternative to help
students improve their reading ability without
holding additional remedial classes beyond school
hours.
Moving Forward, as I Teacher I would say
that this program gives a positive way to focus our
efforts to properly guide our learners on how we
can improve their reading skills. Instead of
extending for one to two hours for remedial
classes, we can do it for a whole day during
