Dear Tracy Quarnstrom:

I am excited to submit my application for your Special education position. With over 13 years of
experience in special education, and a K-12 Principal Licensure, I am confident in my ability to support
the school's dedication to students, parents, and the community. My experiences in all three levels of
education, K-12, has given me the opportunity to develop strong leadership, communication, and
problem-solving skills that I believe are essential for success as an Educator and Leader. I am
passionate about providing a safe, inclusive, and equitable learning environment that supports the
academic, social, and emotional growth of all students.

My approach to teaching and leadership is collaborative and inclusive. I value building relationships
with students, teachers, staff, and parents to promote a positive school culture. Students, especially
those at-risk, have always been the number one reason I teach. I build lasting relationships that are built
on respect and care. I have extensive experience in special education, including being the qualified
district representative in IEP meetings, and closing gaps of special education students, both
academically and socially-emotionally, by creating trusting, respectful relationships with both students
and their guardians. I am CPI certified and have had leadership roles being the District Coordinator for
Extended Summer School and being the Middle School Extended Summer School Coordinator the last
two years. I also served on the SST (student success team) and our math PST (math problem solving
team). During my tenure as a Dean, I created numerous relationships with students with severe trauma,
as well as coordinating the school culture group. I also dealt with many different crisis scenarios with
the students, while at the same time, maintaining their dignity and respect. I did all new student intakes,
registration, transcripts, and registration and input of classes into synergy for all students.
I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the success of Trio-Wolf Creek. Thank you for
considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss my qualifications in more
detail.
