Quality Education

 Everyone has inherent rights, one of which is the right to quality education.
 is one important feature of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4) for all member states.
 follows the fundamental requirement that after children have developed a standard of skills and capabilities, the
learning outcomes must address the real needs of a country and/or the community.

A good quality education

 is one that provides all learners with the capabilities they need to become economically productive, develop
sustainable livelihood, contribute to peaceful and democratic societies, and enhance individual well-being.

Members of the UN

 are thus enjoined to make quality education for their citizens accessible.

Adulthood

 Every child needs to be given proper education before adulthood.

In the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) signed in 1948

 the right to education of every individual is enshrined in article 26, which says “everyone has the right to
education.”
 It is clear that nations need to put a premium on their citizenry's education.

Addressing and acknowledging people's right to education

 is beneficial to society as it is through education that they are able to reach their full potential.

In doing so, they are thus able to live a

 decent life
 fulfill their dream
 achieve financial security.

Sociologists and economists

 are one in saying that education is the key to uplifting the lives of people mired in poverty.
 Without an educated populace, a country remains in a state of inactivity and depression.

General Comment No. 13 of the Implementation of the International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural
Rights, education also

 empowers the youth


 alleviates poverty
 enlightens the youth about their rights
 brings about an individual’s holistic development.

Stakeholders

 In detail, the concept of the right to education involves all stakeholders.

Education

 does not discriminate, which means that a person's ethnic and social background and religion are irrelevant.
 However, one needs to assert his or her right to quality education.

Malala Yousafzai

 a Pakistani girl staunchly advocating girls' right to education, survived an attempt on he her life by a Taliban
assassin in October 2012.
 She was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 for her struggle to fight for the right of all children to education.

assessments via performance tasks.

 An integral part of 21st century education


 a methodology in which students are prepared to meet real-life challenges by learning about themselves;
developing healthy relationships, positive social behaviors, and resiliency; learning how to see beauty; and
making sense of life truths.
 It aims to equip students with four basic skills: creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication.
 is an approach based on the principle of interconnectedness and wholeness which seeks for the development of
the students by allowing them to find meaning and purpose through connections to the community, the natural
world, and to spiritual value

Critical Thinking

 analyzing information to make an informed decision

 evaluating issues and matters which need to be addressed

 ability to socialize and work well with different people


 ability to work in groups
 recognizing a shared goal to be achieved by all members of a group

 sharing ideas, insights, emotions, and opinions with others


 processing of other people's ideas to determine how to respond

technology integration

 which simply refers to the use of technology in education so as to allow students to apply computer and
technology skills to learning and problem-solving.

 analyzing the factors that cause environmental problems


 social awareness regarding the impact of human activities on the environment
 suggesting ways to protect and preserve the environment
