Portfolio Explanation
Portfolio Explanation
The assignment for this week is intended to provide you with an opportunity to create a
portfolio of all your projects. Please read the instructions carefully before you start.
You will create a portfolio of projects (in Google Docs, Microsoft Word, PDF, or a similar
software) containing (1) an Introduction; (2) a Reflection; and (3) a Description of all the
assignments you produced for weeks 2-7.
You will then upload your portfolio of projects in the forum provided titled Portfolio Project.
Submit your fully developed portfolio of projects as either a Google Doc, an MS Word
document, or a PDF document.
Step 1: Write an Introduction (100-150 words). Your introduction should provide the
context for the portfolio. Briefly tell us who you are and what type of teacher you will be
after graduated from the department you are at right now. Then, focus on presenting what you
want to accomplish with this portfolio (e.g., “I would like to showcase the major assignments
I produced as part of this course”). Think beyond just completing an assignment: How can
you envision this portfolio becoming a representation of your professional self?
Step 2: Write a Reflection (at least 250). Your reflection should briefly review your
experience in the course. To prepare for writing this reflection, please identify at least three
major learning gains you have had from this course. Then clearly illustrate how these
learning gains can be seen in one or more of your completed major assignments (be specific
in showing where each learning gain is present in your assignments). Some of the questions
that will help you are: How has your learning gain changed your perspective about your role
as a technology-using language teacher? After discussing your learning gains, you should
also talk about the areas that you would like to improve even further.
In addition, you should also address the following questions in your reflections. For this part,
you can use BAHASA INDONESIA to address the questions and they are
Step 3: Write a Description of your major assignments. Provide a brief description (50-
100 words each) for each of the major assignments you completed in the course.
For each major assignment listed below, you should include (1) the title of the assignment;
(2) a short description of the assignment; and (3) a link/URL to each of your assignments
using either Google Docs/Slides or MS Online links. Instead of pasting long URLs into your
documents, there is a simple way to connect those links to certain words. Here’s an example
ePortfolio (Links to an external site.) from a former participant in the course.
You'll notice that in the example, there are no long URLs. Instead, the author has hyperlinked
text (individual words or phrases). This keeps the portfolio "cleaner" and is an important
technological skill. In order to hyperlink text, you should simply highlight the word where
you'd like to make the link, and then click CTRL+K on a PC or COMMAND+K on a Mac.
Next, paste the URL into the pop-up box in the URL blank.
Here's a list of all your major assignments that should be represented in the portfolio:
