the property that the digit 1 to 5 in their natural order but 6 never appear after 5.

(iv) Find total number of times 3 written during writing consecutively the numbers from 1 to 1000.

(v) Find sum of all 4 digit numbers that can be formed with the digits 2,3,4,5 taken all a time.

(vi) Find total number of n digit numbers which contain the digits 2 and 7, but not the digits 0,1,8,9.

3. (i) What is the number of ways of choosing 4 cards from a pack of 52 cards? In how many if these.
(a) four cards are of the same suit.
(b) four cards belongs to 4 different suits.
(c) all cards are face cards.
(d) two cards are red and two black.
(e) cards are of same colour.

(ii) A man has 7 relatives, 4 women, 3 men. His wife also has 7 relatives, 3 women and 4 men. In
how many ways can they invite 3 men and 3 women so that 3 of them are from each side.

(iii) There are 10 seats in a double decker bus, 6 in the lower deck and 4 on the upper. Ten
passenger board the bus, of them 3 refuses to go to the upper deck and 2 insist on going up. Find
number of ways in which all the passenger can be seated.

(iv) Find number of ways in which a mixed double game can be arranged from amongst 9 married
couples if no husband and wife play in the same game.

(v) A set is containing n elements a subset P of A is chosen. The set A reconstructed by replacing
the elements of P. A subset Q of A is again chosen. Find the number of ways of choosing P and Q
so that P  Q has exactly 2 elements.

(vi) A train is going from Ranchi to Delhi stops at 9 intermediate stations. Six persons enters the
train during the journey with six diff tickets. How many different sets of tickets they have had.

(vii) A delegation of 4 students is to be selected from a total of 12 students. In how many ways can
the delegation be selected.
(a) If all students are equally willing
(b) If two particular students have to be included in the delegation.
(c) If two particular students wish to be induced together only.
(d) If two particular students refuse to be together and other two particular students wish to be
together only in the delegation.

(viii) A question paper consist of two sections having respectively 3 and 5 questions. One from each

4. (i) In how many ways 10 boys and 5 girls an sit around a circular table so that no two girls sit
together.

(ii) How many different necklace can be formed using 23 different coloured beads so that 3
particular beads must be together.

(iii) Mr. and Mrs. Saxena host a dinner party for 8 guests on a round table. Two guests A and B
must not sit together. The hosts have two diametrically opposite seats separately fixed for them and
all the chairs are equally spaced. Find the number of ways in which the guest can be placed.

5. (i) There are 5 mangoes and 4 apples. In how many different ways can a selection of fruits be made
if
(a) fruits of same kind are different.
(b) fruits of same kind are identical.

(b) Find total number of even divisors if N not divisible by 3.

6. Find sum of logarithms of all the divisors of the number 100,0000.

7. Six cards and six envelopes are numbered 1,2,3,4,5,6 and cards are to be placed in envelopes so
that each enveloped contain exactly one card and no card is placed in the enveloped bearing the
same number and moreover the card numbered 1 is always placed in the envelope numbered 2.
Then find number of ways it can be done.

8. (i) In how many ways can four persons each throwing a dice make a sum of 13.

(ii) Find number of ways of making 30 in 7 shots in a shooting competition on which points in each
score is 5,4,3,2,1,0.
(iii) In an examination the maximum marks for each of the three papers are 50 each maximum
marks for the fourth paper is 100. Find the number of ways in which a candidate can score 60%
marks in aggregate.
