Algerian Olympiad in Informatics

Hello little phlox owl 🦉! If you're reading this, you've joined the
Incarnadine training. Congratulations! 🎉
As this is your first AOI Unit in the Informatics Olympiad journey,
let’s make it special! Instead of a regular lesson, here are some
missions to complete:

Mission 1: Learn to Code in C++


This is crucial—having strong coding basics is essential since C++ is
the only language allowed in the IOI.
Here are my top recommendations to start learning C++ (pick one, or
two at most):

1. France-IOI
Probably the best resource! Complete Levels 1 and 2.
2. Sololearn
I learned C# and R on it; the C++ course is excellent too. Only
finish the first four modules for IOI prep.
3. EOI C++ Playlist
Shoutout to our Egyptian friends for this C++ playlist.
4. W3Schools C++ Tutorial
A comprehensive, straightforward resource to get you started.

Mission 2: Practice Problem-Solving


Now that you’ve learned C++, it’s time to get into serious problem-
solving mode! Practice makes perfect. Here are your tasks:
Task 1: Solve Codeforces Problems
Codeforces is one of the most popular competitive programming
websites. Below are some beginner-friendly problems to tackle:

Watermelon
Bit++
Theatre Square
Triangle
Minutes Before the New Year
Beautiful Year
Word Capitalization
Little Elephant and Bits
Lucky Ticket
Power Consumption Calculation

Points: Each problem is worth 10 points, totaling 100 points. Solve at


least 7 to proceed!

Task 2: Finnish Problems 🇫🇮


Fun fact: A friend from the Balkan Math Olympiad swore by the CSES
Problem Set for IOI preparation. Try solving at least 12 out of 19
introductory problems:
CSES Problem Set

Points: Each problem is worth 15 points, totaling 285 points.

Task 3: Algerian Problems 🇩🇿


Finally, practice by solving problems from Phlox and Team White
Upgrade tests:
Codeforces Algerian Olympiad Problems

Points: Solve at least 15 problems. Each is worth 15 points.


Mission 3: Secret Task
Once you’ve accumulated at least 600 points across the first two
missions, you’ll be ready for the final challenge.
Tell your coach you’ve completed the mission and that you’re ready for
Incarnadine II level!
