Quick Operation Guide Installation

1.1 Installation Guide


1. To install W-Access Server, please download the full version using the latest link available in our HelpDesk center;

2. The full version also installs the SQL Server Express database necessary to use W-Access;

3. Run the setup in administrator mode;

4. Click Install to start the process.

5. The database installation process is automatic. Wait until the installation is complete and click Next.

Note: If you are going to use another database platform, just click Next.

6. After completing the database installation the setup will start the W-Access’ installation. Click Next and follow the step by
step to complete it successfully

7. Read our End-User License Agreement, check I accept the terms in the License Agreement and click Next;

8. On the next screen select the folder that you want to install W-Access and click Next;

9. Next step, click Install;

Note: From this step the setup will automatically copy the necessary files to the destination folder on the local disk, install
W-Access services, create virtual directories and IIS applications and check for a previous database.

10. At the end the setup wizard makes the database configuration. You can click Install;

Note: A web page will open automatically, to start accessing the system.

1.2 Starting W-Access


1. Open the browser (Chrome preferred) and access the system using the url https://IP_Server or https://HostName/W-Access.
(ex: https://192.168.1.103/W-Access or https://NSP-USU-0088/W-Access);

2. To login W-Access you can use as user admin and password #admin# .

1.3 Hardware Settings


1. Right-clicking on Default Locality, add a Site Controller to the system;

2. Fill in the required fields and click save;

3. In Address select the server IP.

Note: Change network settings to static IP.

4. Right-clicking on Site Controller add a Controller to the system;

5. Fill in the required fields;

6. Select the controller type;

7. Fill in the hardware’s IP and communication port.

8. Right-clicking on the Controller add a reader to the system;

9. Fill in the required fields then click save;

10. The next step is to fill in the reader number, card format, inputs and outputs;

1.4 Access Levels


1. Also in System, select the option Access Control then Access Levels;

2. Click New and fill in the required fields;

3. After filling in all fields, click save to continue setting up;

4. Select the readers that should be part of the access level checking the checkbox;

5. Select the access time and click add.

1.5 Cards Administration


1. Also in System, select the option CardHolder Settings and Cards Administration;

2. Click New and fill in all fields;

3. After filling in all fields, click save to continue setting up;

Note: The Facilite Code field can be filled in with the value 0.

2.1 Add Cardholder


2.1.1 Cardholder type Resident
1. Click cardholders then Add Cardholder;

2. Select an user type from the list. For this example, we will use Employee;

3. Fill in the data in the enrollment (the name will always be a required field);

4. Then add a card and an access level;

5. If you are using biometric terminals, click on Fingerprints and enroll the fingerprint;

IMPORTANT: To be able to access using biometrics, the user must have an associated card number.

2.1.2 Cardholder type Visitor


1. Click cardholders then Add Cardholder;

2. Select an user type from the list. For this example, we will use Visitor;

3. Fill in the data in the enrollment (the name will always be a required field);

4. Then add a card and an access level;

REMINDER: Remember to add a visitor card type to appears on the list.

2.2 Events
1. Now you can make an access and see them on Events;
