Service – putting the ball into play by placing on the palm, then releasing it on the air before striking it.
Forehand serve

The forehand serve is usually the first type of serve you will learn, and it is the most common. Basically,
you just have to hold your arm so the underside of it is facing the other player. Then, you simply hit the ball
with the back side of the paddle. This is the serve that most beginners are taught first, and it is likely one of
the serves you will use the most.
Backhand serve

The backhand serve involves using pretty much the same motion as the forehand serve. There is only one
major difference, and that is that the back of the hand is facing the other player. You hit the ball in the same
manner as you would with the forehand serve.
Top spin serve

INDIVIDUAL AND DUAL SPORTS
The top spin serve can be difficult to return if they are very fast and long, which happens most of the time.
You should be careful and not be caught off balance.
No-spin serve
The no-spin serve balls would be easy to return, but it is easily possible to confuse these services with any
of the others above.
Backspin serve
This style will confuse your opponent. Place your body in such a position so that you are facing pretty
much ninety-degree away from the table. Bend your knee and spread apart naturally. The primary
technique is to cut underneath the ball. Come with your racket underneath the ball and brush it slightly at
the right time.

Try to stay low to the table at the beginning. Imagine a target on the corner of your side of the table where
the ball will bounce. Keep the aim close to yourself. After releasing the ball out of your palm, free yourself
up and hit the ball with your racket fast enough to make the ball reach at the end of the table. In this way,
the other player would not get much time to think about how to hit it back.

It will help you to induce errors. Throw your ball up. When it comes down, the top part of your paddle
should make contact with the ball. While trying to contact, your wrist should be turned slightly downward.
So that your wrist can flick the ball while brushing it. Once you do this, your racket should finish somewhat
below the ball. Use your wrist to make the extra amount of spin.

A ghost serve is another backspin serve that lets the ball bounce and then go backwards. This is pretty
deceptive, and very difficult for your opponent to prepare for. When you use this type of serve, you can
almost be guaranteed of a point, unless of course, you are playing against a table tennis master who is
prepared for any serve.
Pendulum serve

The pendulum serve is when you move the paddle from side to side, or right to left and left to right. This will
give you two different types of spin, clockwise and counter-clockwise. You can also get two other types of
spin, topspin, underspin, as well as no spin at all.
